We had high hopes for this newly opened lebanese restaurant in Salmiya. Half the food was very good and the other half was bad. The Zgharta shrimp salad and the halloumi salad were good. All the types of kebbeh (Habrah, Nayyeh, Zgharta) were below average. Hummus, spinach pie, cheese rolls, batata harra, and kofta bel tahini were good/Ok. Makanek and drinks (requested crushed ice and didn't get it) were bad. I have posted some of the pictures.
To make it worse, the servers removed our plates without asking us and I wanted to finish my salad because it was the only thing I liked.
The prices are too high for the quality.
A general note, people come to have sheesha more than dining.
One thing for sure, I am not having dinner here again.

My visit to Zgharta restaurant on a bustling weekend left me with mixed feelings. The place was packed, and we had to wait for a bit before being seated, which suggested that it's a popular spot. The atmosphere was lovely, with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for a pleasant dining experience.
However, when it came to the food, I found it to be somewhat underwhelming. The set menu offered a limited variety of options, which was a bit disappointing. While the overall taste was okay, it didn't quite meet my high expectations for Lebanese cuisine.
The highlight of the meal, though, were the zataar fatayer. They were simply delightful, with a fluffy texture and a flavorful zataar filling that left a lasting impression.
If you're a fan of Lebanese cuisine and are in the mood for some delicious fatayer, Zgharta restaurant is worth a visit. Just keep in mind that the menu options might be somewhat limited, but those zataar fatayer are a must-try.

Well well well,
Let me start a bit Positive comments and then will highlight the main disappointment.
My first time visit to this restaurant along with my family & friends (all in all 12 pax)
The location is strategic, nearby residential area, walkable and the most important thing was the secured parking.
- Exterior building is very classy and beautiful decorated.
- Interior also classy, and nice decoration
- The most pleasant sitting area is the roof and the ground floor.
Our friends reached before us and they reserved a place n the roof.
NOW, we reached and we had with us our grandparents.
We sat and the waiters have started to put the plates, but for their goodness we told to the waiter not to disturb himself coz we will be ordering Shisha, Drinks and desserts only, not dinner.
The waiter didn't acknowledge and I felt he was a bit shock "no dinner?" I told no just as i mentioned above.
I felt something is wrong coz they've started to discuss internally and the manager accompanied with them, but I really have started to feel uncomfortable that something is not right going on.
The manager came near to us, shaked hands and he informed us that we can't sit on the roof if we don't order a dinner. (food).
Again we explained that our aim is to have Shisha, desert and drinks... But he insisted that sitting them roof is only dine in and we should order food.
We have told him that if he can find a another place outdoor where we can shift but unfortunately the balcony doesn't fit our number and the ground floor is non smoking even the outside.
Our only choice is the 1st floor and inside which we don't want and wanted to enjoy the pleasant weather.
Anyway to make it a bit short, this attitude I've marked as bad badge to this place... And I've decided to leave the restaurant rather than moving down inside and apply the manager choice.
By the way the manager was polite but there is a big BUT here...
If I were the Managers position and although I'm instructed that sittinf the roof is on that condition I could have acted differently and here is my version where I suggest to take it into consideration to the next visitors, coz I don't think I will come back again.
My version as follows if I was the manager's place.
"Dear client, I would like to inform you that we have kept the roof sitting only for dine in and you must order a food, BUT since you have came to our respective restaurant and came up with elder people and coming up with the stairs. This time we will manage it to offer you to stay seated, enjoy the vibes and order whatever you desire " but for next time jsut keep that in mind.
My above attitude 👆 makes the clients relaxed, delivered the restaurant rule and GAINED us as a customers. Each one of us have a huge community and groups and that could have been a very good word of mouth But unfortunately it might spread a negative one.
We do understand and respect the restaurant rules but not this way it was embarrassing in front of the other customers to leave the table and make yourself out.
While going out we've expressed our dissatisfaction to the entrance lady but she kept insisting that he informed us about that, maybe she did but not the proper way it seems coz none of us heard it.
My suggestion, kindly be clear at the entrance and guide the customers on the proper floor accordingly by understanding their visit intentions since being an international reviewer first time a I see a restaurant that has weird rules.
Keep up a good work but sorry to tell you, personally I will not visit again.
I can't rate about the food, table servid unfortunate didn't experience it.
If you wish to know what we did after, we went to another restaurant and welcoming was extraordinary and more easy to communicate with the staff.
Cheers 🍻

The Location is good, food is not bad, prices are average.
The service is really really bad. I won’t come again because the service was too slow, and sometimes they don’t realize what we want. Not all of the waiters are like that, some of them, and there is lack of staff.
Examples:
1) We try to call the waiter, no one is around us.
2) They didn't put enough bread until we requested multiple times.
3) Hot food didn’t come together.
4) Take away food took 10 mins to pick it and they only did after we complained, and another 10 mins to clean the table. Thats a total of 20+ minutes the table was dirty.
5) They didn’t give us wet wipes once we finished.
However, I don’t recommend the restaurant until they improve their service.

This restaurant just reopened and the remodel is really nice. The portions are small, or at least appear that way based on the serving dishes that were chosen to use. There are 3 floors but we could only sit on the bottom. There is no shisha yet, so you won't be making a long evening of it. The food was fine but there's better in Kuwait. There's parking now which is nice. Mostly handicap accessible, and the service is fine. The servers are still in training mode.

Delicious Lebanese food and a beautiful restaurant. The strawberry passion fruit mojito was amazing and the kufta was great. I also tried the raheb, and the pita was very fresh.
