I just returned to Zen Sushi for the first time since the pandemic. The bartender Mel - she is absolutely amazing. Took great care of me and a new date. The food was so delicious, she was attentive and gave us phenomenal service, has great conversational skills, and many ideas for movie goers with drink specials. We will be back! Sushi Belt style at this beautiful restaurant! But you can order special plates dishes off the menu. Our waiter Edvwardo so kind and pleasant to serve us ! Very large Metal made Budda at this restaurant! A must see if you are in the Barclay area of BHAM.. I have personally never had any issues in the multiple times I’ve been here and taken my items from the belt (which is a fun and unique experience). I will say the more expensive rolls are the only ones I’d come here for. The less expensive rolls are just okay. I liked the crab roll (one with pile of crab on top) and the pepper salmon roll best! The selection will be limited for the last part of their open hours, so I suggest coming earlier. It feels a bit silly to have a waiter when you’re serving yourself, but it’s nice to be checked on. Really love the concept here. Like the color coded billing. Good variety to choose from and new dishes added as new customers arrived. Some dishes didn't have covers, though, and they all pass very close to peoples faces. Didn't like that at all. That being said, you can order all items directly from the menu.

My girlfriend and I ordered drinks and a few sushi rolls at the bar, upon receiving our order we were told that it was not ours, and was given to a couple that had arrived and ordered well after us. We waited a while longer until the bartender informed us what had happened, but that the chefs were making our order now. She came back a bit later telling us the chefs had lost our order, and we had been waiting for a good 40 minutes at this point. Since we had a movie to get to in the next half hour, we couldn’t chance waiting another 40 minutes for some sushi that might arrive. The restaurant kindly charged us full price for the drinks as a reward for our patience and patronage. This is after calling the other week inquiring about the massive chargeback of several months worth of visits that they didn’t communicate. Nice! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Mallory B was the best customer service I’ve had in a long time!!! She was attentive, helpful and always there when we needed her. She got our orders quickly and promptly!!! I almost got mad when there was no coconut ice cream but Mallory saved the day with her smile and grace!!! Ten out of ten!!! You need to hire more people like her this place would be booming!!!! This is our fave place to eat before a movie. The sushi is good and service is always good too. I'm elated with them after my real gold and diamond necklace fell off at dinner. I came back in the next morning and they had found it and had it waiting for me. The honesty makes my heart sing. Great staff! They reran back cards of customers months later claiming non payment. Refused refunds for the charges they had resubmitted five months later. The restaurant manager so, "File a report" when conducted. Highly recommend you follow that advice too. Check your statements. Report them. Service: 1
