After seeing pictures of the food online, I decided to give this place a try. Nice, rustic atmosphere, with plenty of televisions showing sports programming. I visited during lunch hours, and the place was fairly quiet. Staff were very friendly and had plenty of menu recommendations. I had the burger and fries, which were quite hearty. Will definitely return to try the meatball sandwich and pizza.

Worst experience EVER at an establishment. Been going here for a little over 2 years but today I couldn't believe how they treated people. The service is awful. You seat yourself but you can barely fit in the seats without hitting the person behind you because the tables and chairs are so close together. The bartender with the long black curly hair was so rude. She kept cutting me off and yelling while I was trying to speak with her. The food is not good either. The pizza has no flavor and the crust is like cardboard. The fries are so dry I need 5 glasses of water while I eat them, but of course, I can’t get 5 glasses because of how bad the service is. I also got the salmon sandwich. Super dry too and my salmon came in two salmon nuggets. I will NOT be going back to spend another penny at this restaurant.

1st time back after 2 year absence due to the pandemic. New faces but good servers. Food was okay; ordered burgers and cod. Burgers needed salt or ?? Cod was one piece only but tasty. Fries were good. Not sure we will make this a destination place like we did for 20+ years.
Longtime favorite place which has some changes like all places since the pandemic. Service is back up to par. The environment is the same as always which I love. Local people and good food, sports TV and food network!
I witnessed an awful incident today. A man’s order was cold and he politely refused, wanting something different. The waitress irately began screaming in his face. His wife and himself offered to just pay the bill and leave trying not to cause a scene and the waitress and manager continued even calling the police. I’ve been to this establishment multiple times but I will not be returning. Felt bad for the guy and food isn’t that great anyways.

This is a small cozy place with good food. I was told to get the burger here because it's the best. Spoiler: someone in my life definitely over hyped a standard burger. The calamari appetizer was great - definitely order this if you like the onion ring of the sea.
Only negative is that it gets very loud inside. Sit outside if the weather is cooperative so that you can converse with your table mates.

The service was excellent. The food wasn’t, and in fact was disappointing. Perhaps a place using the word “tavern” gets away with a casual bar atmosphere and mediocre food. That would explain a lot, and maybe if I had tempered my expectations accordingly, I could let it go.
The Chopped Salad I had was unimaginative, under-portioned and over-priced. It was a medium-sized bowl of flimsy lettuce strips, a teaspoon of the smallest kernels of corn I’ve ever seen, 3-4 tiny cherry tomatoes, and a few pieces of avocado no larger than the size of small sugar cubes. A few wafer-thin tortilla strips looked thrown in for some token crunch. That standard bowl was without any meat. A Chicken Chopped Salad from Portillo’s or the Southwest Chicken Salad at Chick-fil-A would’ve been cheaper, yet infinitely larger, fresher and tastier.
My friend had a plate of ravioli that looked not much larger than something from the kids’ menu. Both of our selections were “entrees,” which for the prices further added to the disappointment.
No way we’ll be going back.

The food and service are good. This is the loudest small restaurant/bar in the universe. Have you ever wanted to hear the opinions of a Facebook/fox News mom that read part of a headline from across the bar? Do you need to learn about how the economy is ending because Truman got us off the gold standard in the 70s? Are you worried about the moon escaping the orbit of the earth? Then come on down to the York Tavern and listen to plastic surgery Bethany preach!
For real this place is way too loud.
