A very interesting experience dining at the Kuala Sepetang river, we had dinner at one of the many restaurants there called Xin Seafood Restaurant. Located right beside the Kuala Sepetang river built on a platform, it offers one of a kind dining experience with its fresh seafood catch at the same time you're witnessing an ambiance natural sight, with migrating birds and live fishes swimming in the river . The journey here takes you roughly 40 minutes from the Simpang traffic junction. The road here is a little narrow minus the amount of heavy traffic flow.
Here in the restaurant, the menu will catch your attention to a variety of seafood dishes. To the less fortunates eating here will be awesome but for the rich it's chicken feeds. A meal here can run into the hundreds or thousands depending on what you ordered. Varieties on offer ranges from succulent prawns to flavorful fish, each dish is unique in it's own taste.
The service is attentive, ensuring you have a pleasant meal. Overall, Xin Seafood Restaurant though not necessary a must-visit destination but suits well for seafood lovers while exploring Kuala Sepetang. Don't be alarmed when settling the bill, accept it with an open heart. Oh, a word of caution, they prefer cash then any other forms of payment so come prepared. If you're game enough and the cash in hand why not.

Overall food is ok, however, the food portion is small. Fish priced in reasonable compare with other restaurant. But the mantis prawn abit expensive than other's restaurant price. The view from restaurant is nice as it located on riverside.

Fresh Seafood to Choose
AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COST!!!!
I had an incredibly UNPLEASANT experience at the restaurant, encountering the most impolite restaurant staff I have ever come across. This incident occurred during the Chinese New Year afternoon when the restaurant was not very crowded, with only 2-3 tables occupied. Instead of taking orders at our table, we had to make our way to the counter where they displayed the fish. The low point of the experience was the behavior of a staff member, an elderly Chinese man in a red shirt, who was exceptionally rude. For instance, when inquiring about the availability of certain items, we were informed that many were unavailable, accompanied by RUDE remarks like "you all are very SUEY SIAO (unlucky)!" when our selected items had run out.

A definitely must visit restaurant with a great view, best time is to come at 5pm when the place will be less crowded, seafood options will be more and you will get an option to sit near the great view of boats, sunset and even eagles roaming freely in the blue sky! Really recommended for kids as well.
Ordering is self service, you head to the front at the seafood counter, whereby the sifu will advise the cooking style based on your choice and preference. It'll be a good surprise every visit as the seafood availability will be different based on the catch of the day.
Must try is the fried mini crabs, suitable for all ages but not for those with high cholesterol! The oh jian (fried oyster with egg) is another good option thanks to the fresh seafood. For fish, we opt for garoupa and it was steamed with soy sauce, so that the freshness of the fish is maintained.
First timers will have a difficulty finding parking and the entrance of this restaurant, but this is part of the fun! Use the pictures for hint, then you'll get that 'hidden restaurant' experience.

Fried Baby Crab
Came here in a group of 44. Arrangements were easy. Lunch with a river view. Some hits and misses with the food. Seafood generally fresh. The deep-fried battered prawn is very crispy and recommended. The calamari has super thick flesh, and very nice. Crabs were good too. Tofu a tad salty. The chicken dish was too dry. Just stick with the seafood. Toilets a bit limited, so might need to queue during rush hour.
Not bad overall. If you want to experience fisherman village restaurant. The place is hidden at the back lane, ask around if you can't find. Steam fish and Fried squid both taste good. The vegetable and their signature toufu taste a bit too oily and over fried. 3 pax total cost RM152

The environment is very nice, looks like a floating seafood village. Food was alright but nothing to shout about. The tofu were delicious though. For 6 dishes combined, total is RM 129. Not a bad experience.
Nice place with nice scenery. Price is very affordable! My first choice of seafood restaurant if it is not so crowded. Cooking method is normal as well as its taste. However, the selling points are its location, which situated at the port which makes it well known as one of the attractions. Of course, the seafood is really fresh too!
