Amazing place. Love the decor and old style building. Cakes are incredible, I always have the carrot and lots of drinks to choose from. I recommend blend 4 tea. Been back multiple times because I love it so much! Defo recommend!

Nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka, this charming book and coffee haven is a literary oasis. There is this magical ambiance, with shelves of well-curated books. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee envelops the air, enhancing the cozy atmosphere. The menu offers a delightful range of coffees and snacks. They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options - I loved the banana bread! The staff's genuine love for books and coffee adds a personal touch, making it a haven for both bookworms and coffee enthusiasts. It's simply a gem for those seeking solace in the marriage of literature and the perfect brew.

I went to this place called Wild & The Sage the other day. It's a bookstore/cafe in the south of Sri Lanka. It's pretty cool, if you ask me. They have a lot of books and stuff. And the coffee and cake are terrific. I mean it.
I was feeling kind of hot and tired after surfing for a while. So I decided to go inside and cool off. The place was nice and cozy. They had AC and everything. And the people there were nice, too. They weren't phony or anything. They were just minding their own business, reading or working or talking.
I ordered a flat white and a carrot cake. They were both goddam good. The coffee was strong and smooth, and the cake was sweet and moist. I ate them like a madman. I almost ordered another slice, but I didn't. I wanted to save some money for a book.
I got up and looked around the bookshelves. They had all kinds of books. Some of them were old and some were new. Some boring and some interesting. I picked up one that was called The Beach by some guy named Alex Garland. It was about some guy who finds a secret island, where some other guys have made their own paradise. It sounded pretty good.
I bought the book and went back to my seat. I opened it and started reading. It was pretty good, too. It was exciting and mysterious and all. It made me forget about everything else. It made me forget about the heat all.
I was happy, for a change.

A really really great place to stay!
The coffee is one of the best I had in Sri Lanka and the atmosphere is how I like it: lovely interior, super cosy and it keeps all the traffic and stress from the city outside. You just grab a book, coffee and become calm.
The book selection is impeccable, could have wandered around and read for hours if only the cafe were not closed then ;)
Try the carrot cake and brownie! Thanks for having us!

Super place for working because of the good internet connection they have. Good for brunching and snacking. We got ourselves a lot of refreshing drinks and the coffe there is super high quality as well. Plus got the three hummus platter with different toasted bread. We went out of bread and they got us more after we asked. From that, the service was on point. The staff was very helpful in all the ways and always smiling, felt really comfortable there.
Bonus is the book store they have combined with the cafe area. Various book generes to choose from and buy them for a reasonable price (there was also Sri Lankan section and the books were in English!)
Not to mention the beautiful backyard area they have by the hill but we sat inside cause it was so nice and COOL (both the vibe and the temperature)
Go here if you need to do some computer work, take time off or just grab a coffee and read some books. 📚📚📚

It's one of a kind bookstore in Galle with lovely staff. Loved the ambience, the concept and the overall creativity in the space. A great selection of books. We couldn't try the food as we went right after the breakfast but tried some drinks and their affogato which was perfect when you sit outdoors. Highly recommend this place for someone looking for new things to do in Galle and some quiet time in a peaceful location.

Wild & the Sage is a delightful hidden gem in Unawatuna, it reminds me of the types of charming spots you’d find in Cape Town. It’s perfect for all seasons - it has beautiful reading nooks and a magical yard for breakfast and lunch. We were totally captivated by this gorgeous little treasure! Thanks for having us!

What a great find. An oasis of calm in Unawatuna. Delicious food - we enjoyed the pancake, the famous carrot cake and the vegan pulled jackfruit. Iced latte and Elephants breath drink were both very refreshing. We met one of the charming owners, Giselle as well. Recommended.
