A beautiful, family owned gem. My favorites are the big, fresh salads, the spicy Korean chicken and the burgers. The owner is also the chef and puts a lot of love into every meal. Friendly, attentive staff. Several vegetarian/vegan options too! Definitely a go-to for meals several days a week! Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The name of the restaurant was appealing. The online reviews seemed fairly good, and we gave it a try. They were completely out of one major section of their menu. The food we ordered was basic and the presentation was not well done. We paid $40 plus tip for lunch for 2 people. Chicken and pork dishes. Meat quality was lower than anticipated. I won’t go into further details, but our experience seemed to be much less than the rating that others provided. We’ve eaten other places on the island where the food quality was far superior, for a similar price. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

What a wonderful experience and incredible food we had at White Guava Cafe! Walking into this lovely cafe is like arriving at your favorite rainy day sanctuary, filled with smiles, warm welcomes, and delicious smells. The menu is well designed and written with creative culinary creations for all. You know it’s a great place when you can’t decide what to try because it all sounds amazing! The side salad that comes with an entree is the best I’ve ever had; generous, fresh, and local. Try it with the lilikoi dressing, it’s incredible. All the staff we interacted with, including the owner, were attentive, kind, and helpful. White Guava Cafe is truly a community treasure!
They have a few vegetarian options like the mushrooms (see photo) that can be ordered with one of many different sauces. I went with the hoisin flavoring that was pretty good. I do like their vegetarian curry, as well. A great local spot to eat, for sure. For those of us who know the spot, it still reminds me of Pizza Hut and the parking can be a little crazy when it’s peak shopping time at the nearby KTA Superstores. We went at the perfect time of day on a Saturday. The staff is very welcoming and the food was amazing as well! The food didn't take very long to come out and it was made to order. They gave us each a plate of complementary crackers with guava butter which was amazing, and our food was all wonderful as well. We will definitely be heading back to try more of their menu in the future! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30
First time eating here and I swear I can still smell the pizza hut from the old store. The interior looked pretty similar to pizzhut as well. They gave us banana bread and it was amazing. The butter they give you is kind of a waste, too much butter. The cups and the water are really nice and neat never seen water served that well. My daughter loves the Korean Chicken. I'm very confused at how they make it. It's light as a feather like they air fried it but it was also dehydrated and greasy. The texture was unlike anything I've ever eaten and I don't necessarily like how they make it. The fries were good i like the natural potato flavor and they were hot and fresh. I'm definitely willing to try more things on the menu.
The adobo crispy fried chicken thighs are super delicious; the flavour and texture is excellent. I really like how the chicken was crispy while still having a nice juicy sauce. The salad for the side is also packed with a very generous serving of high quality lettuce and veg. One downside was that the white rice felt a bit mushy to my taste, but this could just be my preference for more distinct white rice grains. The staff were all very friendly and the service was great. Overall it’s an excellent value for money and is definitely go back. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

This was absolutely one of the best experiences ever! The food was SO fresh and tasty. We had the coconut vegan curry, pastele burger, a side salad (which was the size of a regular salad anyplace else!) and the banana coconut ice cream. They all surpassed our expectations. Our server Zorn was A+ and the hydroponic salad was out of this world (sorry but I only took a picture of my salad!). Prices were reasonable and the ambience was perfect. Highly recommended ~ Amazing restaurant! Service Dine in Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Coconut Vegan Curry
This is my favorite restaurant in Hilo! Family owned business, and the owner is also the chef. They offer homestyle cooking with locally sourced ingredients. They make an amazing salad with local greens! The White Guava Café has many local favorites, and something for everyone. They offer different sizes of servings so you can order just the right amount. My favorite is their fried tofu! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Coconut Vegan Curry
