This is located on a good place but the location is not very attractive. The surrounding is beautiful with a lots of trees 🌲 🌲. The restrooms are okay but the owner can do a lot to make it look nice. The park in front of the restaurant is a good place to relax after a long drive.
During the return trip from Sri Pada we just wanted a place to have lunch. While looking for places in Kithulgala area we suddenly saw this. It looked bit deserted from the outside, so we were skeptical about the availability of lunch. Couple of us went in to inquire and we met the proprietor of the place and he notified to us that lunch buffet is available and will be served with in 5 minutes. With that news we settled in. The dining area consisted of large hall with wooden tables. Though it was middle of the day and very hot the naturally ventilated hall was pretty cool and it was because the entire hall was built without cutting any tree in the land. Throughout the hall you could see tree trunks going up through the ceiling. The proprietor informed us that he wanted to be friendly to the nature so it was done like that. Even the water supply was from natural springs from the nearby mountain range which was very refreshing. The food was something similar to what we usually have at our homes. Totally Sri Lankan style. They also tasted same without any fancy tastes added using flavor enhancers used in most restaurants. And looked very appetizing too. We came to know that the food was cooked by proprietor’s wife and son. So if you want to try homemade Sri Lankan food this is one place to be. The overall experience was really good and the food was cheap in price too. The proprietor and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Rice was expensive and not that much taste, also majority of the products are not worth for money, unlike hela bojun. Atmosphere was really good..calm environment. .
