It's great juicy hamburgers like grease dripping. Dam, I should have had another one during this review. They asked no questions when I said no bun, staff was very helpful, and food came fairly quickly. We'll go there again and try some different food because if it's anything like the past two experiences, we have nothing to worry about. A quick 3 points as to why you should eat here: 1) Super Classic Vibes - You do, literally, pull your car up and order from a speaker mounted to a tiny menu. I wasn't alive in the 50's, but I imagine this is EXACTLY what it was like to be a wildly independent person who rebels with every breath against the norms of society. Every greaser needs something greasy once and awhile - this is your spot Mr. Dean. 2) The service is impeccable. The place is actually family - owned by the Wagner brothers. Danielle, the manager, helped me out while I ate here. I almost got a cavity she was sweet to me. Her smile made me feel so special when she spoke to me. Not only did she bring the food out personally; she came back to my car window to ask about my dining experience, AND took the trash from my car and threw it out! Finally, she offered menu recommendations while I was ordering, which leads me to my third point... 3) Fries! Get them. Danielle will tell you to get them. I am telling you to get them. You should get them. Do it. Get the fries. If you get them and they aren't the best fries you've ever had - check your pulse, dead guy, because you'd have to be deceased to not enjoy these salty, crunchy, crinkle - cut potatoes. Hyperbole aside, they are good...Like, really good. Get the fries. Get the fries then call your mom and tell her you just ate the best darn fry of your life. Do it. I visited Wagner’s Drive In a couple of weeks ago for the first time! It’s an old fashioned drive in where you push the button on the menu board on a post by your car so someone will come out and take your order! They have a pretty big menu with everything from hot beef sandwiches to patty melts to burgers, fries, onion rings and malts! I had a patty melt with fries and a coke! The patty melt was amazing and their fries are crinkle fries which happen to be my favorite kind of fries! We are in our car, but there is also limited indoor seating as well as picnic tables for when our Minnesota weather is nice! Definitely on my must go again list!

When the grounds are replaced or repaired it will be so much better, it really stinks right now but that's an obvious thing that can't be stopped. Service was SUPERB!!!!! Fries are delicious. I love crinkle cut! The seasoning on them is delicious, honestly you don't need anything to dip them in. I ordered the mushroom Swiss double burger and it was tasty but I will say that I do think it should have had triple the amount of cheese on it and it should have had a little bit of seasoning added to it. And maybe a little bit of a sauce to add a special kick. But it was good! I think my dog enjoyed her hot dog, I mean I'm not sure she inhaled it... 😂. Root beer float is amazing! I definitely will go back and I will just order my burger with extra cheese on it but I think next time I want to try a bacon cheeseburger and some of that wild rice soup! Thanks for being locally owned and operated, I try to make it a point to stop at places like these when I travel! And I enjoyed my meal at Lake Palmer Park! 9/21/2023. 1st time here. Love it's an old time drive in, pull in under canopy order food from speaker. Memories of yesteryear. Food was excellent, met and visited with Jim and Ralph, the owners. Food was awesome and it’s right next to the bins. Reuben was fire! And the jalapeño burger was even better. Overall I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go thrifting without eating here. Great atmosphere, nostalgic CarHop! Wonderful traditional selection of Americana food. We got the double gourmet burger with bacon, cheese curds, onion rings, California burger. All of which were fantastic. Especially the cheese curds! The food came out very quick and very hot and made to order! Super friendly service, pricing is average to above average. I’d never seen Wagner’s drive in before. It’s a little off the highway. I was on my way from Goodwill to go play Pickleball at Pickle in the Middle and Wagner’s was right there. After Pickleball I was hungry, so it was time to try Wagner’s. When I got there, it was the afternoon of a weekday, so it wasn’t very busy. We had great, friendly, fast service, so I can’t comment on when they are BUSY. But if there aren’t a ton of cars parked, I’m sure you’ll get your food fast. The burger I had was really good. I liked it. I’ll likely try different burgers, and other stuff on the menu, in the future. The onion rings were spectacular. Special. We got them hot, but they weren’t greasy. Dry. Wonderful. Somehow they get the onion to stay inside the ring instead of pulling out like nearly every other onion ring I’ve ever had. I’ll be back just for the onion rings. They are that good. The only “negative” is that there’s really nowhere to eat. You either eat in your car or take it to go. I think there might be one picnic table. IDK. But it’s a DRIVE IN. So you should be planning on eating in your car or leaving. This isn’t a surprise. I really liked the food at Wagner’s and I’ll be back the next time I’m up there. They have catered the PTO and the teachers lounge for school conferences-at schools I worked for and then I moved states. Now I am bound to be a regular. Back in MN To start these cheese curds are incredible and everything is fresh. Pineapple milk shakes!!! Chicken wild rice soup!!!! Oh my. The staff is kind. Attentive . Quick. And all around awesome humans. Pup cups for dogs in tow! Even with an auto trio of barking dogs- Being stinkers, given a pup cup. The carhops act fast and respond to needs of customer. Fantastic food!!! You know- I now know why we Minnesotans stay close to home- To keep coming back to family drive-ins and be good ole MN Nice for life. Support the local businesses!!
