After you have seen Museo de Arte de Tlaxcala, come to this bar. If you never happened to degust Spanish cuisine, take your chance at Vinos y Piedra. You will like its food, particularly perfectly cooked tuna, tapas and laing. The hallmark of this place is serving good gelato. Stopped here for brunch, had some omlettes with white wine which were excellent. We chose to sit on the rooftop terrace that overlooks the central square and the Church of San Jose. Views are magnificent. As far as the service, it was a bit slow but i imagine the staff has to truck up and down the stairs from the terrace to the kitchen to pick up orders. I would come back. A nice place... good atmosphere. Two main criticisms. We ordered tapas and it was served with the main meal instead of the way tapas should be as an appetizer. Also the steaks were quite overdone. Medium rare was medium well plus and medium well was overcooked and dry.

The best thing is the atmosphere you can get from the view or the building. The architecture is very nice and the service is very friendly. They have a good selection of wines but i think the food needs improvement. Not accesible for wheelchairs, they accept debit and credit and there is not parking on the premises. The service here is excellent, from a warm welcome, the view, to the entrees, the main dish, and the service one is provided. I would suggest to call early to make any reservations to get the rooftop view. Which as you may see is beautiful. Its really peaceful with soothing music. Waiter will always check up to see if you need anything else all the time. When you walk in you get this Spanish Winery welcome. The smell is soothing along with its wood rustic design. You get walked in to an elevator which can feel tight if you are a bit claustrophobic, since approximately only 3 people can fit inside. I do recommend this place for a date night, to come with your whole family or to just come alone and enjoy this peaceful placenof the city. If you still have not tried a snail dish. You definitely should try it when you come. It is tasty and with lots of colorful flavors. It was my first time trying it too and was told that they are one of the best. Hope you enjoy your stay in Tlaxcala and all of the wonderful attractions it has to offer. Ps. Tlaxcala does exist. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $300–400

Came in for breakfast, what a wonderful find. Clean, beautiful colonial yet modern setting, offers a breakfast menu as good as Vancouver or New York. Innovative cuisine, great service, delicious coffee and beverages. Is a tad higher price than the usual Zocalo fare, but worth every penny. We will definitely return for lunch and/or dinner.

I have eaten at this restaurant two times now. I must say to anyone who wants great food and service I would recommend trying the out of the world great please to eat!!! I have traveled the world and I strongly recommend eating here!!! Tlaxcala is a great place people just dont know about. People are great and very friendly. So open your mind and make the trip!!! Again it's a must to try out of the world great place to eat!!!

Awesome food. Amazing service as well. Was too chilly for the rooftop when we were there but we will definitely come back. Very cool style with the old elevator.
