This restaurant is situated on a hill with a spectacular view and so I was a bit worried that the food would not be that great, but it was so delicious! We had fish with rosti, one daughter had ravioli with bolognesa and the other had a kids' menu with mashed potatoes, which were homemade. Everything was really yummy and the service was also good, despite the fact that the place was almost full... We'll be back!
This small, peaceful restaurant is situated not far from the town of Minas in Uruguay. Location among the hills is beautiful. Road is a 'dirt road', topical of countryside but in good conditions. The building particular arquitectura match very well with the entourage. |We had tea and coffee with traditional 'alfajores' ( a sort of biscuits filled with creamy caramel and rolled on coconut) |Nice experience. We enjoyed everything.
This is a classic sightseeing spot, dates back from the 40's and is a little place in Villa Serrana, that offers a lovely cafe type of place, all windows and overlooking Villa Serrana hills. It offers a small menu and a lovely view. It can list as an attraction as well as a restaurant and hotel, as it has 4 rooms too. I was not able to check the rooms as all 4 were occupied, but met a couple later on, staying at one who said they were simple and nice rooms, with their wood heaters and so on. Breakfast was included in the room price, and they said the food was really good. Ventorrillo is a good place to stop for breakfast or any meal of the day, including tea time. Great view, sun comes through the windows, small place, quite intimate. A bit tricky to get to it, directions don't abound, but anyone in Villa Serrana can give you directions if needed. Google is accurate!
We enjoyed caipirinhas, the sunset, and the scenic views from the glass-enclosed restaurant perched on the hillside in Villa Serrana. The room was almost empty, so we were wondering why the service as a bit slow - until we tasted the caipirinhas. The bartender took her time and made them especially well. Right up there with the best we've had in South America!!!!!! We enjoyed watching the sunset, but I imagine this would be a great place no matter what the time of day.
Well worth a stop over. Villa Serrana is both a location and an area. Lovely for walks. This establishment offers wonderful views and is well worth a stop over. We just ate here and did not sleep over.
