Excellent food, but is you need a vegetarian options or something with veggies, ask for a secret menu. A little pricey but amazing view and food!

I rarely give 5 stars all across (Maybe Le Chalet de la Forêt). But Valmar is tugging at my Puerto Rican soul. The table right in front of the ocean, the magical sunset, incredible food and delightful music. Surely some of the best food, cocktails and deserts in the island. Try the Manchego Rissoto, and the catch of the day. You will be hard pressed to find a better place in PR. Maybe a slightly better or more exotic food, maybe a place with table cloths but you will need to book a trip to Maui to visit Mama Fish to enjoy a similar experience. Back to Valmar: it is worth the trip. My advice to the restaurant: It just need a few touches to get to perfection. Branding is the key. Add table cloth with your logo, develop a store and sell the memorabilia. With that view and your talented team, the sky (or ocean) is the limit. You made me proud.

This place is magical.... The service, the food, the sunset, the smell.... Oh my god this was such a nice experience. That you can spend 200 dollars easy for 2 persons and it won't even hurt. It's a must go if you visit Cabo Rojo... You won't regret it....

Wow! This gem is amazing! The food was fresh and delicious, our server, Jorge, was very nice and knowledgable. The sunset was spectacular and the dessert, perfect art. Thank you for a wonderful experience. If I lived here this would be my regular treat!

What an amazing experience! Got there around 6pm so got a great view of the sunset. The service was superb and the food even better. We started with the croquetas de bacalao and pulpo Valmar. What a great way to start! We also got the Morning Flower and Spiced Sunset cocktails and loved both! Sitting inside is a great way to soak in all the great smells coming from the bar. We are dying to come again soon.

This restaurant has been one of the best restaurants I have been to. Our server was Joel, and he gave us a 5-star service. We had the Nabal Rose Wine, the soup of which was a Pigeon Peas soup, the Spicy Crab Money Bags, the Catch of the Day (Northern Red Snapper), they even made "mofongo" even though it was not on the menu! For desert we had the Mozart Planet Chocolate Mousse, which was incredibly beautiful and delicious. Everything was delicious, and Joel was excellent! He said tables 14 and 29 were the most popular ones, but we were at the terrace and the view was breathtaking!

My wife and I came to Valmar Restaurant and had a spectacular experience. A gentleman named Joel was our server and his service was one of the best I have ever had in my life. We visited on a Wednesday by 5 pm.
Arrival: We were greeted and seated promptly.
Server: Joel explained the different options for appetizers, main course, and drinks. Joel offered a level of service that can only be found in the finest places. He was attentive, helpful, and always kept our table in order. He definitely knows how to treat customers and cater them to bring a very romantic experience. He showed great passion for service and hospitality.
Food: We had Money Bags (spicy crab wontons) for appetizer. They were spicy, but not too much, and full of flavor. We also had the soup of the day (pigeon peas soup), which was flavorful, all you want from a Caribbean cuisine soup. We both had the catch of the day (chillo fish), which was cooked to perfection and seasoned like a true Caribbean dish - tasty, but not overpowering. The dessert was the Mozart Planet Chocolate Mousse Cake. The taste was a really nice and soft touch of chocolate that will satisfy your sweet craving. It looked like Saturn with a comet by its side (truly a piece of art).
Place: The atmosphere was cozy, with soft live music. The restaurant is next to the ocean and you can see the sunset.
Overall: The experience was beautiful, exquisite for romance. The food tastes great, and the portions are good. We loved the service. Everything came together to make this an unforgettable night.

had reservations for 13 for mothers day. 9 of us were from the states. They had a special menu for the night and the food was on point! They also gave each mother a beautiful rose! Live musician was wonderful too!

This place was a great experience. First they are very accommodating, the concierge arrange for another friend that was not on our reservation to join our table, for which they had to move us since our table was already full. We went here for dinner around sunset time, and the views of the ocean during our dinner were spectacular. They had live piano music and light strings on the patio and terrace which made for a good atmosphere. I had the "Mar y Tierra" with wagyu sirloin and it was hands down the best steak I have ever had anywhere in Puerto Rico. This place is on the pricier side, but totally worth it.
My only complain is that they don't have many vegetarian options.
