Great food in a great atmosphere for reasonable prices like everywhere in Mexicali. The stars of the meal were the Bao buns: fluffy like a cloud with crispy and tasty pork belly. Go there and enjoy. Good place to grab a bite. Sometimes there are no parking and most frustrating thing is finding this restaurant. It hidden in some corner and I misses it couple time trying to find it. Food was okay, nothing to be WOW at. Love the inside of the restaurant and service is great with good waiters, which is rare in Mexico. It Asian food but Mexican taste, I prefer true Asian taste. I've been coming to this place for several years and have seen the menu evolve, it's my favorite place to eat in mexicali hands down . I 100% recommend this place the Drunken noodles are delicious 😋 👌 and the dumplings as well flavor on point. The cocktails are a must try! Teriyaki bowl is sooooooooo good . The Calabasitas are a great touch ! 👌 my compliments to the chef Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Chicken Bowl
Oof😮‍💨 the absolute best sushi restaurant in Mexicali period🔥💯😮‍💨 just perfection at its finest, the seasoning, the quality, the quantity💯 almost felt like art just seeing and tasting these plates😍 the photos does no justice to these art pieces😘 just come and try it yourself😋 no regrets here, just breaking the diet plan😅 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $200–300
Si regreso! POKE & UDON noodles. We were a large group celebrating a birthday and the staff was very patient and welcoming with us. Food was flavorful and pleasing to the eye, the portions are large too. Their sake was served cold and it was very delicious. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
So who would've thought that the middle of Baja California in Mexico, a delicious ramen spot would have existed. Umai brings a great diversity of asian cuisine to mexicali. Umai aims to be a Japanese and Mexican fusion, and successfully able to do so. The restaurant gets pretty busy, so plan accordingly but it's definitely worth it. We able the Tonkotsu Ramen, Dumplings, Shrimp Brochetas, Chicken Pad Thai, and Shrimp Fried Rice. Like I mentioned earlier, their aim is for Japanese food mixed w/ mexican influences. Therefore, the ramen was probably the highlight of our table. The dumplings and brochetas was good as well, but the fried rice & pad thai were just put together. They weren't bad, but it wasn't anything special. Definitely swing by and get some ramen; in addition, the sushi rolls looked good as well so maybe get some of those! @phidingthefam Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $200–300
Very good fusion Asian food! I live in Ensenada and we don't get this kind of food over here. I go to Mexicali just to eat, and i would definitely go back here. I ordered the drunken noodles, they weren't delicious.
Excellent service, the moment you enter you can enjoy an urban-asian vibe of the place. Now talking about food: exceptional presentation, simple, pretty & colorful. We ordered the package of 3×99 baos (those you can choose 3 different from the menu), shoju ramen(?), kimchi fried rice & a sushi roll. Any complaints? I think is just a matter of preferences but I thought the lunch I fried rice tasted way more like ginger than kimchi, all other dishes were great.

Cool looking place. Food was good in general. The mango sticky rice dessert looks nice but nothing compared to the real thing you might find at thai restaurants. I don't think the rice was even sticky.

Second time here for Asian food. Japanese ramen almost same quality as Japanese one. Tasty and yummy but little higher price then typical Mexican foods. Ramen is about 170(mxn). Sorry I took photos after some bites. Enjoy and Yummy
