33 000MMK for three in a standard room with additional bed, breakfast provided.||||They confirmed my booking by email, but was not sure when I arrived as they showed me all the other rooms before the standard one. But once we checked-in, they brought the extra bed immediately.||||The only complaint was the bath tub in our room was cracked, although it could still be used for bathing. The staff were helpful and courteous. ||||We had dinner at the Golden Lion. There were many military men there, we were the only foreigners and civilians there it seemed. However, we had a great waiter who took the effort to get our orders and an English menu, trying his best to relay information when he only knew a little English. The food was good, but tom yam soup noteworthy, but the highlight was the fried steamed pork. Completely sceptical when ordering but mind blown when eating it. The meal was 14300MMK for three persons.||||They also gave us our breakfast early as we wanted to catch the train. And reduced their taxi price to bring us to the train station. Overall, great place. And there's a tiger on the reception counter!
The best Thai restaurant in Liverpool by far! Fantastic fresh Thai style street food in a beautifully designed venue. Very attentive staff and a special wine list and even the added bonus of its own extensive G & T menu. Only wish I could eat here every night. Visit and you will definitely go back very soon.
Booked this hotel on line, knowing that, in Burma, one should always expect the unexpected. First impressions were reasonably favourable, and we were checked in swiftly and efficiently by a friendly lady.||||Our hearts sank a bit when we saw the rooms. We were given two adjacent "bungalows" at the back of the property. They were dark, cheerless and decorated, if that's the right word, with alarming floral wall-paper and a range of tatty, ill-matched furniture. The curtains would not open (the strings were broken), and the bathrooms were drab and unappealing. The "garden" is largely concreted and various buildings have been thrown up with no overall vision, making for a very depressing environment with no views and little or no comfort.||||There is a big beer station on this chaotically arranged property, and the noise from the revellers went on quite late. This was nothing, however, compared to the din made by the workers gathering at 5.30 am in the yard behind our bungalows.||||Good points: a good, strong, piping-hot shower; a comfortable bed; a surprisingly tasty breakfast (though I do wonder why it is necessary for the staff to knock persistently on your door at 7.00 am to take orders for a breakfast which is available until 9.30).||||Overall this place makes Fawlty Towers look like Claridges. An interesting experience, but one I wouldn't repeat. Much better, more modern, and less annoying places are available in this vicinity at similar and lower prices.
Wir übernachteten in der Nähe und kamen "zufällig" am Golden Lion Restaurant vorbei. Es hat sich aber gelohnt. ||Ansprechende Speisekarte. Freundliche Bedienung. ||Tolle Ambiente. ||Die Tische stehen draußen im "Garten". Dadurch sehr angenehm||Preise angemessen eher günstig.
Ein einfach nettes Restaurant. Gutes gegrilltes, vorallem die Röllchen. Hervorragendes Service und preiswert. Eine wirkliche Empfehlung für einen netten Abend ohne Autobussen und Massentourismus, super!
