I’m disappointed this use to be my go to spot and I moved out of the area. I was in the area and wanted lunch, I ordered deluxe steamed rice with bean sprouts and broccoli, extra duck juice. When I got home I had fried rice and there was hardly any meat. I had 2 shrimp, in the whole box. I’m upset I paid $15 and I feel like I wasted my money cause it’s not what I wanted and I stay 30 mins away now. Safe to say I won’t be back any time soon. The most discussing rice and Angry Bird St. Paul I ever had. Who ever cooking they need a new cook. I had a piece of paper in my food partial label from something they cooked in my food. My first and last time going. I order sesame tofu fried hard. Waited for 40 minutes and to get home and it was regular fried. Upon leaving the employee told me to make sure I give 5 star. The food is ok but I can not say tasty. I expected more from Asian food, maybe I will try different restaurant next time. Ordered from here on 10/25/23. Ordered just plain fried rice and one order of crab Rangoon. My kid woke up at 3am puking profusely. He was my only kid that ate the crab Rangoon. Something has to have been terribly wrong with them. Must’ve stayed out too long or was prepared with old product. Smh haven’t been in years and now I won’t be back. The Good: the Cheeseburger Eggrolls and Strawberry Cheesecake Rangoon were great! These two carried the rating of this place for sure. The fried rice was also solid. The Bad: the lo mein tasted like garlicky dish water, and it only got worse the next day. You can't get a half order either so I'll save you the trouble of getting a 6-pound box of agony. The Ugly: the duck, while tasty, had bones everywhere and I don't understand why it was cut that way. Gross. I think the chicken and broccoli also had a bone in my first bite which was unpleasant. Rice house has been the best Chinese American food offering for me and my family in STL. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly. Our preference is the Duck Fried rice and Duck noodle. The only issue is the amount of bones that are in the duck servings. Too many splintered and that makes for a less fun dining experience. Today we are getting the egg foo young and chicken fried rice which we’ve had before and hopefully will enjoy as well. Disappointed in this restaurant especially during the pandemic. Seems as if the focus is on the money and not the quality of the service. In this matter the food to be exact. Paid over $30 in lunch and the cost wasn’t the problem. I don’t mind pricey food if it’s worth it. The Philly cheesesteak wontons were mostly air as you can see in the photo. We paid $10 for fried air totally disrespectful. The duck and noodles that I ordered weren’t good neither. The noodles were horrible fresh. You have to let them sit a couple of hours so the juice is absored into the noodles. The duck was good but I had to fight around the bone. I’m willing to give them another go just not this year.

I am so disappointed in the service that I received on 8.15.23@8:49pm, on my daughter's birthday. I spent $98 in this establishment and was missing some items out of my food once I got home. I did what I thought anybody would do when food is missing and call back up to the Rice House. I asked for the manager and a young lady got on the phone and said ma'am I bagged your order and everything was in the bag. I then stated what I was missing and she proceeded to cut me off and say ma'am you the same lady that was in here saying you didn't have your sauce. I then said ma'am I am not, I literally just left from there. She hung up on me, so I called back and she said the same thing and hung up on me again. So I drove up to the location and the lady said ma'am you the one who asked about your sauce and I told you, you had it. And I said no ma'am that was not me. I said I came in and you were sweeping and another lady helped me and I said nothing but have a great night and left. She said well then I need to see all the food in the bag or your receipt. She finally decided to get me the 2 items that was missing. They were so rude and unprofessional the entire time and I had to wait 20 minutes for pot stickers and 2 crab rangoon. I have a large family and always spend $60 or more at this location. But the service and the way things transpired at this location was so so crazy. I have called up to file a complaint and was on hold for an hour and a half and still no one came back to the phone to assist me. I will not be back to this place again.
