I go to The Pelican frequently. Their food is absolutely amazing. I have fond memories of eating their delicious bacon and egg rolls before I needed to be at exam hall. Their staff are the best of any restaurant I go to. The atmosphere is also really great. They have a killer playlist that they play, it's a super chilled and nice atmosphere. I'd highly recommend The Pelican. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The food was excellent and the vibe was chilled. Our well behaved doggy was welcome. We had an omelette which was perfectly cooked and the mexican salad which was fresh and full of flavour. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 100–150 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Quaint little café nicely set back from one of the busiest business areas of Hout Bay. Lovely wooden decking immediately outside offers a shaded area for outdoor dining while far enough from the road to watch the world go by without interruption. Warm welcome at a relaxing restaurant under the trees. Set back from the main road in Hout Bay. Excellent service from Tapes who took our request to leave soon for the airport seriously. Well presented, portioned and delicious food especially given it was a busy Saturday morning. Keep it up. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast

Claim to do the best crepes. Mine was more like a roti. Definitely not a crepe. Was a savoury one... don't waste your time ordering it, barely 2 tablespoons on mince in it, cost around R94!! Needless to say I ate a small triangle and plate went back with a mound of "crepe". Was really not great! I did mention this to the manager, he really didn't seem bothered!! The 7 of us that were there agreed we'd not be back. ***thank you for your prompt response, I hadn't actually started my meal when you came to see if it was all good. But the ladies enjoyed their breakfasts. I did not want to cause a scene at the table. The "crepe" was folded in thirds, I had 1 third (the third with the drizzle of mince and cheese), the rest was left. I most certainly didn't storm off, I turned to go to the ladies room. We were there celebrating a birthday, and would have loved to have a glass of bubbles when we arrived, but were told we had to wait til 10, this is the reason for us not returning- first time weve experienced this in the Bay. Great look once you enter! Happy, friendly, fresh and beach vibe when you are here in this adorable local top eatery in Houtbay. Variety of food and drinks to choose from. These include, breakfast, crepes, croissants, freshly made cakes such as carrot cake for those who want to eat their vegetables while enjoying a fresh cake. Not to mention the breakfast bowls and also great lunch choices to choose from. Great way to go

Best brekkie and lunch spot! I had the Ribs special and it was out of this UNIVERSE! Just fell off the bone. Their juices and lunch menu is pretty well thought through. PLUS, they're earth conscious. Turning their "waste" into Bokashi liquid gold and nutritional soil fertiliser within the community!
