This place is awesome! Friendly and sweet bartenders, funny and nice patrons. Overall very good vibes, will definitely be back to shoot some pool and drink some yummy cocktails!
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I used to love this little dive bar, its right across the street from my apartment and almost never busy. Last night, I went with a friend who requires a service dog with the intention to have a few drinks and shoot some pool. This service dog has been in the bar many times, and his California service tag is always available upon request. Some Karen at the bar (haircut and everything) had the audacity to complain about a SERVICE DOG who was sitting in the corner watching his owner and doing his job. The Bartender violated several ADA restrictions in her questioning about the Service dog, even after his tag was presented, and ignored all of our requests that she please look at the official ADA requirements before refusing service and throwing us out of the bar. I have never seen more despicable behavior in my life from any establishment. This dog is trained, well behaved, and important to my friend's well-being. To ignore the ADA in order to appease a customer who was not in anyway effected by the presence of a dog is just disgusting. I will likely never drink here again, and if you have a service dog or in general support people protected by ADA I would highly recommend that you do not go here either. We will be taking our business to The Elbow Room and other similarly ADA compliant businesses going forward.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BAR AT ALL!!!!1My friend and I went to The Local to celebrate her birthday and at first we were having a very good time. Unfortunately about an hour after we got there a group of people came in and took rude and inconsiderate to a whole new level. The bar was full when they arrived so this group pushed themselves into the two spots my friend and I were sitting in. One woman actually reached across me and started playing the poker machine in front of me. Not only did the bartender not call them out for their bad behavior,she actually served all of them drinks!!!!!!! My friend and I decided to close out our tab and leave because you can't fix stupid and we weren't going to even try.
This bar is an awesome little hole in the wall aptly named "The Local". It' s a clean bar with excellent service. My favorite bartender, Sidney is always super fast with my regular night cap of PBR and a shot of whiskey. No matter how busy it is, she takes less than 5 minutes to get me another round. In regards to the guy complaining about the service animal not being allowed in the bar...I happened to be there that night, and that is NOT what happened..AT ALL. He's just an angry lil guy haha. Him writing an angry review about it .....What a Karen thing for to do. Lulz.
Love coming here, having been coming for quite a long time and the last two times I was talked to about having my hearing & PTSD dog because a friend of the owner wasn't ok with the fact he was in the bar laying on the floor sleeping, even though the ADA does not require a specific harness vest or collar to identify him and I had his service id and presented it, was still asked and forced to leave, the older woman with a permanent scowl on her face who hides in the corner of the bar and pretends she owns the place needs a reality check
Love this place! I immediately felt at home here with the friendly clientele and the relaxed atmosphere. Carrie Ann is a vibrant, skilled bartender that knows the regulars by name and keeps things lively with the jukebox and her smile! Military and LEO friendly place.
The nicest people ever own and run this bar. I’m here to see my husband play in pool tournament. We don’t drink so imagine how awesome the owners and customer base are to have made us feel at home here ❤️😎
