Food was ok we had a pizza and Garlic bread 🍞 . Bread was really small for $12 ,pizza was meat lovers was ok but definitely had better. Service took a while to take our order . Venue came highly recommended. Venue in top order and very clean. Exceeded expectations. Venue calming and tranquil. Very easy to relax and enjoy the fabulous vista whilst waiting for food. Food from tempting menu was scrumptious. Service good. Barperson/waiter helpful very cordial. Would recommend . They've changed the menu since I've been there last, which was quite sad. The meal I had was good, but we drove from Christchurch with dreams of smoked chicken and our dreams were dashed. So sad. Still, the service was excellent and you can't beat the atmosphere. And we brought our dog and he loved the patio. The setting is outstandind,food superb,service leaves a bit to be desired.we sat at 6pm and finished our service at 9.30 pm.for 2 courses,not good.from ordering dessert until it arrived....over an hour. Awesome food and great service at this superb cafe, bar and restaurant overlooking an inlet on Lake Hood, a short drive from Ashburton on the South Island of New Zealand. Try their Brisket Burger (delicious) or sample a range of barbecued dishes served on a platter. Bookings are essential especially on Sundays. There are some great walks around Lake Hood and a nifty little solar-powered circular ferry that starts with the push of a button and takes you across the inlet.

What an incredible atmosphere, accompanied by some of the most efficient, friendly service we have experienced in a long time. From outdoor sundowner drinks on the deck over the water, to a cosy table for 2 inside, couldn't be faulted on a night where every table was booked, nothing was too much trouble (drinks/water/was everything good)......and the food? The pitmaster really knows his stuff. Large portions of succulent slow cooked meats with waffle fries, slaw and terrific bbq sauce. Angus beef short rib to die for and a platter of two choices from chicken, boston butt pork, brisket or sausage. Priced sharply and increduble value for money at $36 and $29. Great drinks list and affogato to round it off before a waddle back to the car park. Lake Hood's Lake House gets a solid 10/10. Thanks all

A lovely place to visit. The food was pretty good. We had a group of us and the few of us that had chicken fettuccine found it to be unusual. Chicken fettuccine with only 2 very small pieces of chicken, plus it had peas and beans in it... didn't do it for me or the others... but go try it yourself and you may love it !!
