If you are a fan of mullet roe, you will love it here! If you are not sure, this is an amazing place to find out. And if you aren't, there are still plenty of delicious options! Overall the team did an amazing job at providing a 5 star dining experience! I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back for more :)
I came here to celebrate my birthday with my fiancee, and they certainly made my night 🥳 The decor was beautiful, the food was delicious, the price was reasonable, and the service was swift, fantastic, and very foreigner-friendly!
We ordered the Mullet Set ($660), Abalone with Mayo ($330), and Prawn Salad ($260). With a service charge of $125 (not sure if this is 10% or a flat rate?), our total was $1375.
The Mullet Set started with a seasonal Melon appetizer which was a great start to the meal, and arrived very quickly. It had a firm yet soft texture and great flavor. Before we even finished, we were greeted with our prawn salad - there were plenty of vegetables cut to the perfect sizes, and a delicious vinaigrette dressing that paired wonderfully with both the vegetables and the prawns. Next came our 9 small portions of various sides, which matched the photo in the menu. As we worked on this board of food, we also received our mullet roe fried rice, miso soup, and abalone! It was very fun having so many options to pick and choose from as we filled our bellies 🤤 the 9 sides were all fantastic, and was a great variety to sample a lot of the dishes that The Carp has to offer. Everything was so flavorful and I was very happy to experience several different uses of mullet roe, something I had not tried much of before. The only thing that could be improved is that the "seared scallops salad" could have more sear on the scallops, but I'm just being picky 🤣 it was still delicious. Our favorites were definitely the pickled black fungi, the mullet roe and nuts cheese, the chicken, and the pork neck! The miso soup included a good amount of seaweed and tofu, and the fried rice paired wonderfully with everything else on the table. Out of everything, I think the abalone was my favorite! It was cooked perfectly, and went very well with the fried rice as well. I would like to see it paired with a different sauce than mayonnaise, but it still worked very well together! I just think the abalone deserves a bit more love because of how good the meat itself was.
Finally, after we finished our main course, they cleared our table as we waited for dessert! I had mentioned that we are celebrating my birthday in our reservation, but I was not expecting anything special. The mullet set already includes a plate with 3 desserts, but they went ahead and surprised us with a second plate so we each had our own set of desserts! The desserts were delicious, and we loved the creativity of the mullet roe cookie!
In the end we got to taste 17 unique dishes, and came out full but not overwhelmingly so - the perfect amount to enjoy every flavor! Thank you for the fantastic meal 🤩🎉

Yummy food with amazing presentations tho the fried rice were a bit salty and oily. Overall food taste pretty good. Staff were friendly and the vibe was really nice. Price was a bit above average.
The restaurant poses as a five star dining experience, but sadly can’t deliver its promise. We had the set dinner for two people with extra drinks. The salad was loveless, with corsely cut lettuce and a dressing that tasted as if it was pure vine vinegar poured over the salad leaves. The only dish that impressed was the mullet roe with potato mash that came as a starter. The pickled jellyfish was more for the adventure than truly fine dining. The restaurant was supposed to be open until 9:30 on/21:30 with last orders at 7:30pm/19:30 according to the posting outside. We came and ordered before 7/19:00. Yet the waiter already brought the bill and asked us to pay when we just had received the drinks. That is really bad manners and rude. The dinner generally felt very rushed. Service wasn’t attentive at all. Felt more like a cheap diners with all the plates being thrown on the table at the same time, instead of every dish at its own pace. We were disappointed by this restaurant.

Went there for lunch, food and services are decent but there is a minimum charge of hundred-ish (160?) TWD for each person. Sakura shrimp fried rice is delicious.
Got take away and even after an hour in the car to get home, the food was fantastic. The XO sauce scallops & rice was my favorite, but everything else made full and satisfied.

It is quite busy on Saturday for lunch. The overall taste is good, but not that great. The waiter is friendly. They material of salad is good, but it should be more for 2 people. The flavor of chicken is average. The fried rice is great though.

The environment is great. The atmosphere of the backyard is chill and relaxing.
The food tastes good but the price doesn’t match for me.
Just like any other restaurant, we had been told that we can only stay for 2 ( or maybe 2.5 ) hours. The restaurant asked us to make the order before arrive. But we still waited for more than 90 mins from the first to last dish been served, not even including the time of confirming the order. We understand that it’s difficult to serve more than 10 people at once. We already followed the suggestion from the restaurant by ordering in advance, but still, part of our group waited for the meal for hour after seated.
I hope you can understand how we felt and try to find out any solution in case the same situation happens again.
