Try nicely cooked fried chicken, steak wrap and hamburgers. Cooks at this steakhouse do their best to provide visitors with tasty peanut butter pie and good asida. Ordering the delicious beer is a nice choice. You can come across reviews that ice tea is great here. Black Steer is famous for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. From the guests' viewpoint, prices are low. You will definitely appreciate the pretty atmosphere and homey decor. This place is ranked 4.1 within the Google grading system.

I’ve heard a lot of good about this place and I really wanted this to be a 5 star place… for a non smoker, it’s apparent by the smell this place used to be a smoking facility and the smell is still there.. Our hostess and server were friendly and prompt and the wait on food wasn’t very long for our 5 person party. There are just a lot of oddities at this place… things they try to do “differently” and in my opinion were a miss… the sauce with the calamari was just too different for me. Sweet chili and calamari aren’t fantastic together. Also the rice Chex on the salad instead of croutons… not a fan. I tried it just to see how it was. Not for me. None of our party liked it. The presentation of the food could be better as well. Lots of outdated decor and tableware. Food is basically served on a tray. All that being said, three of us had the pepper steak and only one was cooked to order. Consistency of the meat being cooked is my biggest complaint. Very good flavor and char on the meat though. Mine was cooked to order med rare and it was fantastic. The baked potato was good and so was the butter and the sour cream/chives with it. One of us got the ribeye and it was cooked fairly well to order. The fries could use some seasoning or salt or something because they are bland and don’t highlight the meat very well. My little one had the grilled cheese and fries and loved it and she also had the spaghetti and liked that too. Overall good experience and I’ll likely be back to try more on the menu as it looks like there a lot of other good things to try. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Our waitress was wonderful but my steak was over cooked not once but 2 times my father ordered the tuna and it was overcooked my wife and son got the salmon over cooked my mother's steak was cooked as she liked but needed a ton of ranch and sauce to get it down they claim to have the best steaks around but can't even cook a steak rare twice in a row so disappointed. Save a trip. To top it off they gave us some banana cream pie that was rotton and for some reason chex Mix on the salads we tipped well it was not the servers fault but some more pride needs to be taken. The crazy thing is they had to see the food they put out and just dident care just go to bonefish grill Food: 1 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If I could rate this a negative I would! Horrible service and way over priced! Save yourself and go to Applebee's. What steak house puts chex mix on their salads and dont know how to grill a medium steak. This place should be embarrassed of them selves. Upon first entering, you are encountered with two chairs with signs on the seat that read “for display only”. In my opinion, having a display only sign on a seat ruins the display value of the seat. The place for being so immensely large few people were there. If this place were even at half capacity, the very limited staff may suffer from stroke. From what I’ve seen there is only one waiter waiting on all four tables. It felt as if I was existing in the location of a Ghostbusters outtake. The three working fans were somehow at drastically different speeds. Not to mention the fact the light bulbs are one what mismatched. The fireplace, practically begging for a large fire was merely supplied with a small flame. From a dark corner bar, constantly emerged that if some jazzy music. After a while the music stopped and we had to sit in uncomfortable silence. For the six of us, there were only 3 quite used menus. The people who own the place had to deface their own menus in pen with new prices for some of the items. 4 dollars for a Coke, even in this economy is ridicules. Ordering food was quite the ordeal. The person who waited on us may of had hearing issues. She almost mistook a rum and coke for a “lemon coke”. The bathroom is reminiscent of a subway station mixed with what I’d imagine would be some sort of strange disco. The facet is atrocious. I’m not a salad person, but a bite of the stuff with their signature garlic dressing is delicious. One of my acquaintances got a “death stare” for asking and having held onto the garlic dressing after the salad. I had heard they had bread but was very disappointed when I heard they didn’t. A place like this should certainly have bread. After an hour our entrees arrived. One good thing with the service was the very kindly gave me my requested fries after learning they had gave me the baked potato by mistake. The others who ate with me had steaks, burger, or chicken stripes. The chicken was fine, the burger (from the kids meal) was surprisingly huge. I got the barbecue ribs and they were immaculate. The meat fell right off the bone and the sauce was so good. If you like garlic get the fries and keep the garlic dressing. It makes a great dip. Overall while I did poke fun a little it is good place for the food. Atmosphere is still iffy. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Prices were not too bad but the Steaks are not worth paying for. (26 their special, pepper steak nd 37 New York strip) My wife's steak and mine was completely over cooked. I asked for a medium rare and was served a medium well closer to well done. The Steaks were both completely dry too. The French fries were homemade but they seemed to have been sitting a while and were stale. I'm no sure about the rolls, they did not seem homemade. Seemed like the pre-made rolls you put in the oven because mine hardened up shortly after it was brought out. The only thing moist on our plates was the watermelon they provided. We walked in it wasn't overly busy by any means, however we waited for straws until we had to retrieve them ourselves. After being brought the food, we were not checked on until it was time to produce the check. Will leave this on the topic of, not worth the money for the poor food and poor service. It was excellent! Food was great! Service was awesome! I love the atmosphere, it's stepping back in time. People complain about the rice chex, they have been doing that for year's, its fun and gluten free for the folks that can't eat bread. The burgers are huge. The Best Steakhouse in Loveland. We loved our family visit to The Black Steer. Very friendly welcome. Lovely setting and the menu choice was wide and varied. The Pepper Steak was a signature dish and I enjoyed it immensely. Our server Naomi was exceptional. Very efficient and very friendly indeed. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was absolutely beautiful and I’m quite sure we will be back again. Highly recommended indeed. Five Stars even! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50
Was visiting Loveland & this place was in walking distance to our hotel. We stumbled upon it and the place was packed!!! Call for reservations if you are going!!! The hostess said it'd be about a 20 minute wait, we waited for 50 minutes, which the place doesn't really have a place for you to wait, so you just try to move out of the way over & over. Our waitress was great, she got our orders quickly, got our food out quickly, and stayed on top of everything, even though she was definitely busy! The food was OK. I guess I expected a bit more fir how crowded it was. My hubby & daughter got their signature steak, per menu, they made same recipe for 56 years. My husband's came out great, but my daughter's was chewy and definitely not the same even though they ordered it exactly the same. Not a bad place, but not a place I would personally revisit.
