A must when visiting Vava'u, amazing atmosphere and very friendly staff. The view of the harbour is as spectacular as the burgers are juicy. I would recommend booking in advance and to try at least 3 different tapas it have the fish if the day.

Susana!! She is the absolute best - she works behind the bar. She was such a delight and was very attentive to my husband and I. The food was so good and so were the drinks. When you go - ask for the Vava’u water! 😄

Went there for dinner. the smoked salmon roll was very tasty but it’s not a roll. It’s layered on toasted bread. The potato’s were good and the pork was good too. All good but pricey for what you get. There’s a pool table and that’s where most of the people were playing pool and drinking since it’s a tavern. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

We had a wonderful dinner last night! The owner is very nice, the food was amazing, and the view is great too! We shared a tapas, had two entrees, three beers and two glasses of wine for $70 usd, which we thought was excellent value. Book your table well in advance if you want to dine on a Friday or Saturday night. Wonderful place and we will eat there again before we leave Tonga!

Basque tavern offers a wide range of tapas but only two mains. out of the four tapas that we tried the stuffed eggplant was the best! patatas bravas and meatballs were good, but DO NOT order the fish cakes, they were awful. for the mains we shared a grilled chicken that was yummy but the portion was small compared to places like mango cafe and bellavista.

We had dinner here as a group of 10 in early February. We opted for the Chef’s choice for tapas and every dish was wonderful. We ended up not being able to finish the final dishes as we were all so full. Very reasonably priced and great service with amazing views out on to the Harbour. Would definitely recommend!

The food was absolutely delicious, best good we had in Tonga. Spanish tapas with a Tongan twist with lots of delicious seafood. Very reasonably priced food with lovely views of the harbour. We ordered 6 tapas dishes between 3 of us which was plenty.

We became regulars because of the owners and staff. They were so nice and made us feel like welcome family every time we went. The music is always good. The pool table is a lot of fun. The food is unique and really good.
