The food was good but not what some of the reviews hype it up to be. It wasn't like "oh we definitely have to go back" type good. The atmosphere was good but the picture guy kept asking us if we wanted to take pictures after we clearly said no thank you. We got a flight of drinks. We had a reservation for dinner and the doors were locked until 3:30p.m. A staff member unlocked the door, walked away and didn't bother to let the patrons in who were standing outside in the drizzling rain! That was weird and rude! I have to say this is my second time visiting the restaurant and as far as the service it was not as good as the first time. However, the food stood strong on its own! Everything that we ordered came out fresh and in a timely manner, and it was delicious. I must say as a resident of the neighborhood in spite of the food being great, I look for customer service and an atmosphere that would make me want to return even if the food isn't that good. The Barrel Club may need to train their front staff on being a little more courteous and welcoming! Kudos to the kitchen staff!!!! I had the shrimp pasta, pierogies and a whiskey flight I liked the food more than the drinks. On the flight was the pb&j (was a bit funky) and the mule (I let the ice melt so it was watery). Went here 4 my bday lunch with family. The waiters were professional & pleasant. The food was delicious. I had shrimp & salad. My daughters had shrimp & grits. They both said they enjoyed. They close for about an hour then reopen at 330 for dinner. We will try dinner later in the year. It is a small intimate place so good 4 a first date or brunch. Came for dinner on a Saturday night and had an amazing time. Between my husband and myself we had the Cajun salmon, a steak, fries, and crab cakes. Everything was delicious and season perfectly. My salmon was cooked to perfection, the polenta it was accompanied with was creamy and the perfect texture, and the broccolini tasted fresh. Everything was perfectly portioned. I simply can’t put into words how fantastic the food was. I also had a mocktail and my husband did a bourbon flight. Love that they had options for sober folks. The service was top notch, our waiter (Ken I believe was his name) was so attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He made us feel welcome and well taken care of.
