This used to be the best place to get prime rib. The past couple of times I've been there the food has been lack-luster. Steak temperatures were way off. Some of the other food in my party was brought out cold. The service was good and so were the other aspects of the restaurant. We went to the The Albany for lunch, something I haven't done for many years. I've gone for dinner and haven't been too impressed but I have to say, lunch was awesome. I had the Portobello Sandwich with Coleslaw and my partner had the Grown Up Grilled Cheese and Coleslaw. Service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was so genuine and warm. My partner and I agreed the Coleslaw was the best we've had anywhere. It was real Coleslaw. Not soggy and not over seasoned with salt and other spices. The Portobello Sandwich was great. A big meatly slice of grilled Portobello with cheese on Sourdough. It wasn't greasy although the bread didn't hold up too well because it was juicy. Not a bad problem to have! My partner said his Grown Up Grilled Cheese was great. I am very impressed because I love supporting the historical restaurants of Cheyenne. We will definitely be back to sample other dishes! Oh, and the entertainment we had from the men behind us who discussed the sex toys found in one of their rental properties was priceless. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went on a Saturday night. It was very busy. We didn't wait too long for a table but didn't see a waitress for a while. When she did come over she explained that they were short staffed. She was nice, and a bit overwhelmed understandably. I had the chicken fried steak. Probably the most tender chicken fried steak I've ever had. The white gravy was a little bland. All and all though, the meal was very good. My wife thought the soup was delicious. I recommend The Albany when they are fully staffed.😄 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes
Cozy, homey vibes. Great selection of beer, scotch/bourbon and specialty cocktails. The food is amazing. Had the trout and tried something new 🐃🥜. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Warm atmosphere on a cold night. We ordered a dinner salad to share and the kitchen split it onto two plates for us. The creamy chicken soup was excellent. We ordered a chili burger to split also and again the kitchen served it on separate plates. As we are older, the portions shared were excellent in size upon recommendation from the server. We ordered the bread pudding, it was one of the best bread puddings I’ve ever eaten. It was the perfect size for sharing. I would return to the Albany and strongly suggest anyone visiting Cheyenne to dine here it’s right off the square which was decorated for Christmas. Post dinner stroll around the lighted decorations near the railroad depot, museum was delightful. And of course the view of the capital rotunda was awesome at night. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

For those who don't know, this long-time downtown fixture is not only a restaurant it's also a full bar, and it has a package liquor side too. For this review, I will be discussing my time eating at the restaurant side of it. My recent visit here was the first time I've eaten at this restaurant in approximately 20 years. It felt meaningful being here because of the history of this restaurant with how long it has been open. Well, getting to my dining experience. All the staff I talked to were really friendly. My waitress was awesome and kept making sure my party and I were ok. The food took a bit longer to come out, but my thing is, I don't mind if it takes a little longer for the food as long as it's fresh. Well, the food was indeed very fresh. The burger I got was pretty decently sized, and it tasted very good. I was very pleased with how the food turned out. It just was an overall good visit. I think it's worth mentioning that this restaurant is in a great location with it being in the heart of downtown Cheyenne. It's right next to the depot and in walking distance to other attractions, shops, bars, and other businesses worth visiting.
