Super casual, unassuming, and inexpensive restaurant with great personality and service. It’s clearly a “locals” hangout with limited capacity (so make a reservation). When we called for a reservation Paula recognized the US area code and answered in English. She is super friendly, with a great sense of humor that is promptly realized when she showed us the wine list (merely pointing to the cabinets loaded with local wine.). She knew about all of them and once we selected she brought out the perfectly chilled bottle. Try the spare ribs! Note in our picture that the sign is missing from the front of the building. Paula is having a new one crafted. Very fun, super casual, and great food! What could be better? Small little location, centrally located. It was easy to find parking close by, however we came off season. The restaurant is very small with a traditional look and feel. Recommended to make a reservation, especially on the weekend. Even during off season. Paula, our waitress has been outstanding. She was super friendly and took good care of us. The food was okay. Portions for Portuguese standards and the kind of location a bit small, however nicely presented. Everything tasted okay but nothing was really great. It was an average experience but for my next time in Peso da Régua I would certainly go somewhere else. Meal type Dinner Price per person €25–30 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
The host in our hotel suggested we try this restaurant. It was a simple looking restaurant with a short menu - which I feel is a good sign - keep it simple. We had the soup, pork sausage and salad for appetizer. For the mains, we had the octopus and and the sardine omelette. They were all great. The service was attentive and fast, the place was clean and homey and we enjoyed our meal very much Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €25–30 Recommended dishes Tarte de Maçã Kind Of An Apple Tart
5 stars are not enough. Simply the best food experience I had in 3 years in a restaurant and I am not exaggerating. It is usually fully booked and we were lucky to get a table after some time of waiting and visiting the museum nearby. It was totally worth it. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €20–25
Phenomenally wonderful food. Home cooking at its best. Sardine omelette was freshly salted by the sardines. Egg was fluffy. Pork ribs were sticky salty and the spinach rice that went with it - superb combination The grilled octopus with potatoes and broccoli. Soft and tender. Pork ribs were the winner for me - and I'm not a huge pork eater either! Apple tart for dessert was very good. Right about of pastry and the apple slices were texturally good for the tart rather than the usual diced up apple one can get from apple tarts. The texture of the sliced apple pieces were also cooked well and not overly cooked Definitely a must try and the service / host was amazing.
Their philosophy is keep it simple, use the freshest ingredients and make it on the premises. The owner was lovely and caring, the food was fresh, beautiful and absolutely delicious. We had the Roasted Sardines, Salad #1, White Beans and Mushrooms, BBQ Spare Ribs in Red wine Sauce, devine apple tart - all in a cozy setting, simple and warm. One of our best meals in Portugal and very very affordable. Do not miss this one, book ahead it is tiny! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Amazing food! We had a great night at Tasca, we ordered the pulpo, ribs and for dessert we asked for the orange almond cake - holy moly! We absolutely loved it! But the service is even better. The owner is kind and very helpful, we had a superb time, thanks!
