Good food and friendly staff. It's advertised at authentic Mexican food. Im no expert on authentic Mexican food, but what I do know is its good. Every dish is made to order with fresh ingredients. Well worth a try if you haven't already. Pictured is 1/2 of the meal (torta cubana) served today. It was delicious. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

The bathroom was spotless, the service was friendly, the food was delicious and ready quickly! Meals for two was $18, very affordable and huge portions! Absolutely stop here if you have the chance! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $1–10
It is not what the rave is about on these reviews. I gave it a try because of such good reviews. It is definitely not authentic. The floors on the inside to the dining area is sloped. The restrooms look decent but then when you sit on the toilet seat, it moves. It's definitely broken and not fixed. The music was off and didn't get turned on until we sat down for a while. There were only 2 other customers eating just before we sat down. The server was nice but he just kept forgetting to bring out all that we ordered. We had to keep reminding him what we ordered. Other than the rice and beans, the 5 dishes we ordered were so bland. If you're expecting a hot sizzling plate of food, you'll be further disappointed. Our fajita was not on a hot plate. Their red and green sauce were also bland. So when our food came out bland, we thought maybe the sauces can save it...but it didn't. All food gets served on those $1 Walmart colorful plastic plates. You get to use foam plates, plastic forks and spoons as well as water bottles. I honestly didn't even check to see if they charged us for each water bottle that we were given. We didn't finish our food at all. Oh, and if you think you're getting homemade chips, nope! You get served chips straight out of the store bag. They at least made their salsa and their corn tortillas from scratch. You also won't get any grilled green onions if you're expecting them. We didn't get any with the dishes that normally comes with it. There is honestly so much room for improvement. Support if you'd like. As for me, I came here hoping to get some good food and to fill my hungry belly but that didn't happen. We spent a little over $90 and will not be returning customers.

This restaurant is the real hidden gem of Hiddenite, NC! Some friends and I were visiting Emerald Hollow mine, and decided to forgo the cult deli, leaving this as the only other place open for lunch at 3pm. The table salsa was one of the best I've had anywhere - bursting with flavor and a little kick. We tried the guacamole - perfection. The horchata was sublime. I ordered carnitas in verde sauce, which was served with corn tortillas that *had* to be homemade, they were so good. One friend tried the sopes and the other tried the tacos - everything tasted like someone's amazing grandma was running the kitchen. Everything was fresh and as authentic as possible. The service was great, the staff friendly, and the bathrooms were clean. The atmosphere was somewhat lacking - the building was old, tables were cheap and worn, and the interior decor was minimal. Every inch was spotlessly clean. I believe the restaurant mostly provides takeout, and I don't usually go to a taqueria for the atmosphere in any case, so while it rates a "3" on atmosphere for me, that is an utterly unimportant factor in this case. I will absolutely return (4+ hours from my home) just for the food, and I've already been spreading my recommendation to anyone that is likely to travel anywhere near there. My family and I got done with our hike and was looking for a good restaurant to eat. The food was absolutely delicious! 100% authentic Mexican food. Definitely, will be back when we get the chance again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This place really surprised me! It's not a fancy high end snobby like restaurant. It's like a good American restaurant except it's Mexican food. You can tell that it's just ordinary people trying to make it in the business. They make their Tortilla's from scratch made to order. They only have steak, chicken and pork and maybe seafood but I'm not for sure. I tried chicken and it was delicioso. Their salsa and cheese dip was really good as well. Right now this place is new so I urge everyone to give them a try while it isn't so crowded. I suggested that they add sweet tea and fresh homemade chicharones to their menu . That would be awesome with their cheese dip and salsa. Tell them Brian Davidson referred you. Tip them good! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10
Food is fresh and delicious. If you like authentic Mexican give a try! Best tamales in town period! The sopes are delicious. Best Pico in town. The gorditas are good. We have not had a bad thing here yet. Would love to see their business grow and succeed, they need to stick around.
100% authentic. Great flavors. Awesome hole-in-the wall. I had a burrito that was a lot of food for the money. I will go back again next time I'm in the area.
