The restaurant has beautiful decorations. It has AC inside, though it is not blasting cold but it is acceptable. Food was good, beyond my expectation. If you like a little bit of spicy food, you should order vindaloo. If you don't like spicy, I'd recommend butter chicken. It is creamy and good with rice. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. I guess, the appetizer was pre-made and put under the warmer. It came out fast and a little bit tough to chew and it was just luke warm. The portion of the appetizer was small, just enough for one person. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Butter Chicken

The rating goes just for the efforts of Chef Rohit. He did an amazing job to make special efforts to make food for us according to our taste. The menu is fine but the food is catered towards western people. Being from India, the restaurant was one of the reasons we chose the hotel to stay. Chef Rohit went out of the way to create new dishes according to our pallet. Thanks Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Recommended dishes Butter Chicken
Pleasantly surprised. Maybe not the most authentic Indian food. It is obviously toned down for the American pallet, I have had spicier butter chicken than the vindaloo here. But, still probably the most flavorful option at the resort. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Easily the best food experience of me and my wife’s entire trip to Hideaway at the Royalton. I let the staff know that I had a nut allergy and the chef came out personally and crafted me and my wife a meal to accommodate our food restrictions. When I say my sinuses were open and ready for business?! But we couldn’t stop eating! Come here; you will not be disappointed. Chef Basant Kumar is the GOAT.
The best à la carte restaurant at the Royalton Rivera Cancun, bar none. Chef Basant Kumar's authentic Indian cuisine is succulent; you will lick your fingers, guaranteed. We were seated in the beautiful arched wine cellar section, and our waiter Luis gave us amazing service. He brought us a mix of all the appetizers on the menu, including a tray of papadams with mint, chocolate, and mango dips. We also shared 4 main courses: the butter chicken, the vindaloo lamb, the chicken tikka masala, and the chana masala. All were delicious, served with a small side of perfectly cooked basmati rice. My partner and I shared the mixed appetizers and 4 main courses between us, and we're both pretty underweight so don't hesitate to order two main courses if your hungry. The mango sorbet dessert was also very good. All in all, we had a fantastic evening at the Taj. Reserve your places a few days in advance, especially during busy season, as it's one of the more popular à la carte restaurants on the resort.

The restaurant was delicious with professional service. Our waiter provided recommendations for every meal we were interested in. My daughter ordered the Butter Chicken dish, which she enjoyed to the fullest. I ordered the old fashioned, it was spot on with right amount of whiskey +, the environment was relaxing with good vibes. This restaurant is a must try, our waiter Britany provided great top notch service. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Butter Chicken

We ate here almost everyday throughout our trip. Our server EVER was literally the kindest and most hardworking person, he was very humble and did a great job. Chef abhishek was also really nice. We really liked the food and service. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Horrible. Small portions that cannot fill you and the taste was not very authentic. We had to eat again. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
Certainly one of the tastier options at the Royalton and staff were very polite and attentive. However the food portions were ridiculous! We ordered three starters between two people: A vegetable samosa, Onion Pakora and Lamb Kebab. What appeared was: a single samosa on its own on top of a tiny lettuce leaf, two of what can only be described as onion rings and two thumb sized pieces of marinated lamb. Slightly dejected, we tried to remain positive for the main courses: Matar Paneer and Vegetable Biryani. The positivity faded immediately when we saw that both of our meals fit on a side plate each. These were advertised as main courses. We left feeling hungry, but not before seeing the couple on the table next to us being served two adult sized portions of curry and rice. Overall a disappointing experience that left us hungry. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
Let me start with this, being an Indian and that too vegetarian my husband and I had very limited options. Taj was our only option for dinner. Our first day we didn't like the taste of the food as it was not made like Indian taste, chef Basant kumar personally came and asked us how he can make it better, since the chef himself is Indian he immediately understood what we were looking for. Since then till our whole stay he made so many different option as per our taste and crafted special items every day. Never ever seen such hospitality and consideration for each and every person as per their choice. A must must must place to come and have Indian food and to all the Indian visiting you will not miss home cooked food, you will just have to let the chef know. Special thanks to chef Basant kumar.
