Do not shop from this business! I ordered a dozen Whoopie pies and had them shipped to my home in Florida, after trying one at my daughter’s in VA. I really loved them and wanted to give them out as Christmas gifts. I preciously had a dozen sent to my daughter’s house as well. When I opened the box I ordered, it was crawling with ants. I immediately had to throw the box away as the ants were crawling all over my counter. I snapped a couple of pictures and emailed them right away asking for a replacement. No one replied to me for weeks. I reached out again explaining about the ants and that I needed a replacement. Finally on my third try, someone replied and asked if I was “implying” that the ants originated from them! I was shocked. I have never received such poor, unprofessional service ever! I asked for a refund since literally 2 months had passed and it was now too close to Christmas to receive a new batch. I never heard from them again, never received a refund either. $48! This place sucks! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Although, the whoopie pies are good I'd never recommend working here. You will get up at the crack of dawn, sweat your buns off and be hit on by the owner all for minimum wage. Not to mention the place is not as clean as it should be. Worst place to work in Central Maine. The BEST Whoopi pies on the planet!! I’ve tried many others, over the years, and some came close to my nana’s. I don’t know what magic Steve’s Snacks has, but these light, soft concoctions are amazing! The cream filling is perfection, and the cake is out of this world. Thankfully, I can find them at Papa Gambino’s in Bangor!
We got Steve's Snacks whoopie pies in a package with our Luke's Lobster order. I knew the flavor was Maple, so I was skeptical imagining them to be very sugary, but they were incredible. Just the right touch of sweetness. Our package came with 4 whoopie pies, and they were each consistent, wonderfully made, and delicious. They were frozen and thawed easily. I would definitely order again, with or without Luke's Lobster.

I bought a Whoopi Pie in MA sold from this bakery and you never would have known it was packaged, or that it was made in another state! This quarter classic large pie with fluffy cake that did not get my hands messy. The cream was excellent in both taste and texture. It was definitely worth the purchase, and makes me want to go there in person!
Hubby brought home 2 whoopie pies that sounded delicious but once I looked at the ingredient list, I was horrified! So many artificial ingredients! Soybean oil, soy flour, propylene glycol, just some of the terrible ingredients. Also, genetically modified ingredients. Whoopie pies are made with simple ingredients, these are ridiculous! Being a Maine company that makes whoopie pies, these are so disappointing. They were returned to our local store.
For most of my life, their whoopie pies were my go-to when stopping at a gas station for a snack. Their unique flavors are surely an attention getter and the taste doesn't disappoint either. However, my perception completely changed after working here for less than one day. In the summer, temperatures in the factory are well over 100 degrees with no air conditioning. Employees are dripping in sweat, wiping it off their foreheads, and immediately go back to touching the food. Gloves were also not available for the over 100 employees working in such a small building. Also, hand washing was certainly not a priority here. Besides the lack of sanitation, the new employees are treated like rubbish. There is ZERO training and you just have to walk in and do it like you've been there for 10 years and if you make a mistake, you are yelled at by people you don't even know the name of. You get told to do one thing by one person and then get screamed at for it by another. After seeing the horrible conditions, disgusting environment, and the way they treat people here, I haven't bought anything from this company since. Absolutely nauseating to think I've been consuming other peoples' sweat and mucus my entire life. I'm just thankful I haven't caught anything from it.

I used to be a HUGE fan of these whoopie pies. Over the years it seems like they've gotten away from decent ingredients to just all chemicals. Chemicals that are horrible for your health. So sad.... now I only buy from small mom and pop bakerys that still use real ingredients.
