We went here for an early Valentines dinner. I had never had quail before and I wasn't disappointed. It was covered in a blueberry balsamic glaze that paired perfectly with the quail. Friendly and great service. Plan on a wait fir a table, but get a drink and sit outside on the porch or inside on the dance floor.

First, the food and atmosphere were excellent. A very popular place. We had a 30 min wait time on a Thursday. The antelope appetizer was excellent. We had the large salad with smoked brisket added as the protein. Live music was nice. A great night of music, food and atmosphere.

This place has some HISTORY. Nice to dine in a place which goes long back. I ordered a chicken entree. It was salty and to my liking. The people are friendly and accommodating. I wish I ordered something else. And they are also open till late.
Their bar and decor is cool. Not sure if I will be back.

Unfortunately after all the hype about this place l was underwhelmed. Their beer selection is uninspiring with the same old mass produced bottled brands. We got the antelope strips which were quite good. I wish l could say the same for the BBQ mesquite brisket. I was told it was slow cooked for hours but it was rather tough, overcooked and tasteless and the sauce was nothing special. The potato salad tasted mostly like raw onions. The beans were average. Basically it was an average meal. Nothing special.
The ambiance and service was good. I would come back again and just get appetizers.

Chicken Fried Antelope
Great space and atmosphere.. live music was great.. very busy but no surprise there..!
Food was decidedly average - the chili and antelope tenders lacked any strong flavor.. her quail was very tasty..!
Churros were too thick and the chocolate sauce was not even warm.

Very fun place to enjoy dinner. They have live music with a section for those who want to sit close to the stage and those who want to eat dinner are further from the stage.
I went at 6:30 PM on a Friday evening and they were really busy. I ordered a prickly pearita (prickly pear margarita) and an antelope burger. They originally forgot or lost my order for my margarita so I didn’t get it until I asked about it when my meal came. The waitress was very apologetic. The antelope burger was juicy and came with the right amount of toppings. The fries were a little cold which made me think my food had been sitting there for a while. I would’ve liked the fries to be warmer and a little crispier.
Overall it was a good meal and if I was in the area I would go back.

How to review Starlight Theatre, truly a unique experience and atmosphere of Terlingua. Expect a wait, maybe 60-75 minutes unless you are one of the first there to get your name on the list at 5 o’clock opening time. There is a cantina to the side of the building where you can get cocktails, beer and appetizers while you wait - as well as a cool outdoor sitting area! There are heaters to help keep you comfortable in the cooler nights. Staff members can be anything from friendly and kind to brusque and business like, not catering to the touristy crowds. Didn’t bother us one bit, considering the food was good! Brussels sprouts won our vote for best appetizer, and dinner options didn’t disappoint either - chicken sandwich, burger, brisket plate and chicken fried antelope!
