Let me first start off by saying this is a hidden secret in Roswell that I knew nothing about. My daughter’s friend referred her to this place, so we decided to check it out, and I’m glad we did. When we first walked in, we were greeted by young lady by the name of YaYa She explained everything to us in regards to the daily specials, and if we wanted to order something besides the daily special. My oldest daughter ordered the fried flounder with green beans and mac & cheese and it comes with a cornbread muffin. If we had to rate the meal, she would rate the meal 8.5 out of 10 only because she wasn’t a fan of the green beans. My youngest daughter ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and mac & cheese. She said her meal was amazing. It was delicious. She gave it a 10 out of 10. My grandson had the kids meal which was chicken tenders,, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. He normally doesn’t eat all his food. he ate a good portion of his food, and said it was really good so we would say he gave it at least a 9 out of 10. I ordered the pork chop meal. It came with two pork chops. One was smothered the other one was just fried with mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, collard greens, and mac and cheese. I would rate my food at 10 out of 10 it was amazing. It had just a right amount of seasoning, the pork chop was crispy and tender on the inside, and it was not dry. They have a lunch special Wednesday through Friday from 12 noon to 3 PM which comes with one meat and two sides and a drink for 12.99 plus Tax If you choose not to get the lunch special, the additional meals they run, maybe about round 17.99 plus tax So that would be the pork chop that I got today, which was two pork chops, two sides, and a soft drink and a corn muffin and it was 17.99 plus tax and I paid for two additional sides. The additional sides are five dollars apiece. That may seem high to you, but it was definitely worth it. I still have food left over that. I will be eating later today. You pay for what you get and at this establishment it was worth every penny that I spent. I can’t wait to go back again. They’re closed on Monday and Tuesday I apologize I don’t have the picture with the Sweet potatoes, they were in a separate container. The food was so salty. The Salisbury steaks were not tender. Thick like bricks. The mac and cheese was ok, the cabbage was too salty. Black eyed peas was probably the best thing. Very disappointed as it seems the food was rushed or just no pride taken into the cooking because I ordered through DoorDash. Wouldn’t recommend. HORRIBLE! One star! I wish so badly I could get my money back. I ordered today via DoorDash. The BOXED Mac n cheese tasted like 4 day old leftovers. No flavor in the rice & gravy, muffins tasted like chalk. The only decent thing was the chicken tenders I got for my teenager. Even she was angry at this food. The worst waste of $40.00. Too bad I found this place right before I move out of this area. I got a veggie plate to test them out and the food was surprisingly good. The greens were the only thing that were a little “eh” but they weren’t bad. The main issue I had was, I placed an order online but still had to stand in line for 15 minutes behind other people. I go here at least 2 times a month (to go) for a few years now. The food is ALWAYS ON POINT. I usually order the Fried Chicken with Mac&Cheese, along with green beans or greens. The best part about this place is the food is always consistently good. The employees are always fairly friendly as well. My fiance is picky when it comes to soul food and we both loved it! The price was just right for the food/quality we received. Fried shrimp has a lot of crispy batter. Salisbury steak was tasty. Fried okra was crispy and hot. Mac n cheese is on point with the flavor of butter so tasty. Cornbread is just the way we prefer it (it is not Jiffy box by any means) and the seasoning was good. Meal combo was filling but didnt leave you feeling weighed down. We will be back. Putting this in our regular rotation (and we are somewhat picky about our faves). Thank you for serving Roswell! I don’t normally post pictures with reviews; however, I was very impressed with the portion sizes and quality here. My family & I were all completely full with food left over! Everything was made to perfection & seasoned perfectly. The restaurant is clean and the team working this afternoon, 3/18, was friendly and professional. Service was great. A lot of the meats are made to order. I went for lunch and ordered the smothered Pork chops with white rice, cabbage and mac and cheese. I really like the pork chops and cabbage. The rice was hard and I didn't really care for the Mac and cheese. I went back for dinner and ordered the pork chops again with just rice and cabbage. The rice was cooked perfectly and I still had no complaints about the cabbage and pork chops. I also ordered the BBQ jerk ribs with collard greens and yams for my husband and he enjoyed them. The meals also come with cornmuffins but with both of my visits they were hard and small for the large portions of food given. I can say that this experience was a pleasant one. Being a restaurant owner I can tell that the food here was made with love and looks consistent comparing it with the photos in the reviews. Okay now the food. My wife ordered the Salisbury steak with green beans and Mac n cheese and mashed potato’s. I ordered the fried chicken dark with collard greens and Mac n cheese. WIFE’’S FOOD REVIEW: The Salisbury steak with was THICK and delicious. The gravy was a compliment to the steak. Mind you, you get 2 of them. The mashed potatoes was very delicious and there was pieces of potato mixed in meaning it was REAL potatoes NOT BOXED!! and the green beans was slamming, seasoned just right. MY REVIEW: The fried chicken (Dark) Leg and a thigh was very good. The breading was perfect and was not salty at all. Much better than other’s I’ve had. The Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy. I loved it because I can eat it with just a fork and not cut it like a cake and eat it like a steak.. the collards was tasty as well. Personally, I would’ve cooked them a little longer to make them more tender but hey.. to each its own. They were still good. It had smoked turkey and not pork.. A+++… and the corn bread muffin had the perfect amount of sweetness and DELICIOUS.. I can eat those all day. CONCLUSION: Would I go back? YES! Would I recommend it to others YES! Is it worth the trip.. YES!! WHY? For the price… the portions are HUGE! You definitely get your moneys worth. WELL DONE!!!
