My husband and I ate at Southbound last night and we really enjoyed everything we ordered except the red beans and rice which was really bland and tasteless. We ordered the red snapper, shrimp, Breakfast All Day, ahi, and carnitas tacos. All of them were really delicious. My favorite was the carnitas one because I really enjoyed how the pickled onions tasted with the pork. The ahi one was really tasty, but difficult to eat due to the jicama “tortilla”. My husband had to eat it with a fork. I think using the jicama makes it more low carb and maybe GF. We also ordered the queso dip which was tasty. I ordered the plantains as a side and they were good. I think it would be nice if they offered the elotes as a side dish. The churros with dulce de leche dip was pretty good. I think it would have been better if the dulce de leche dip was heated up a bit. I wasn’t crazy about the atmosphere for a dinner. I think it has kind of a fast food feel to it, but with servers and a higher price point. I’d definitely come back, but probably for lunch. So, for our first time going! Hands down, “delicious”! We ordered 6 diff tacos with sides and drinks. Yall, the red snapper…. 😋 OMG! Never in my life! Only reason for 4 star is chicken was on the dry side, and the chairs were soooooo hard. But the setup was cute! WE WILL BE BACK! Oh and the margaritas… mmh mmh mmmmmh damn good! Tried it for the first time and didn’t expect much based off of prior reviews. Surprisingly, had a great experience. Looks like management is listening to feedback and making positive changes. Food was great and fresh. I had 3 tacos (ahi, shrimp, pork belly). Tasty flavors all the way around. Staff was super friendly and the food came out quick. The place has a really fun vibe with a great outdoor space that will be fun to hang out on come spring. A few more tweaks and this place can be 5 star. Will be back for sure. I went to this restaurant and the food here is terrible. When they brought me the food I thought it was a bad joke. Then I realized that it wasn’t a joke that that was actually my food. I should have been angry but what I did with my friend, was laugh. Because the “yellow plantain” looked like five p**p. We asked for tacos and the tortillas look like they’re bought in Walmart and the chips that they gave us were the last chips left in the bag. When we complained they told us that they make the chips there every day. Please. When the very friendly Manager came, she asked me if I didn't want the plantains because they were very burnt. Of course I don't want them. Besides being burnt, they were cold inside. She went and brought me other less burnt. It seems that that is the way to sell them……… burnt ripe plantains not fried plantains. And BTW I leave you the photo of “MY FRIED FRIED PLANTAINS” so you can see how the yellow fried not burnt plantains looked like. I do not recommend nor do I plan to return to this restaurant. Mixed experience at Southbound. Our server was really nice and personable, but she only could handle 1 table at a time. She'd take an order and immediately go to the back without checking on other tables. As you'd expect we had to wait to order, wait for drinks, and i wait about 15 minutes to get the bill. The food was okay. I loved the chorizo cheese dip but the price was very steep at i believe $17 plus tip and tax. That's a $20 cheese dip folks. Not worth it, though definitely tasty. Burrito was good but like other reviews said it really lacked seasoning. I'm usually the clear my plate kind of guy but just i left half the burrito on the table. Felt like it was missing something. Atmosphere was pretty good and relaxed, drinks were good too. I think with a lot of restaurants in the area there are better spots for the money though Southbound could be great if they tweak their recipes a tad. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Sad to say, the food is like others say is tasteless ! Our food was cold, over-cooked, unacceptable tiny serving size, and overpriced. Good atmosphere and friendly service . The manager did comp our meal when we shared our concerns , but if they don’t up their quality I don’t think they’ll make it . Would not recommend and will not return for food. The salsa is too acidic. The portions are small. The waitress didn't ask us if we wanted another drink. Feels like they opened too fast. They could have used a soft launch. They might want to hire additional waitstaff. Get the management to taste the food to ensure quality. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5

The food and service was absolutely amazing. Was skeptical to try this place based on previous reviews. Glad I decided to give a try. Everything we ate was amazing. Elote, a must try. All three different tacos were a hit. If you want flavor this is the place. The server recommendations were on point. Coastal vibes in Greensboro! Right when we entered the restaurant the staff met us with a friendly mood. The girl taking orders had suggestions for us and was very nice. We loved the music and outdoor seating with heaters. The shrimp tacos were fantastic and I will be dreaming of those churros tonight. We will be back! Thank you guys for making our Saturday better. I really wanted to like it. I got a chicken burrito- the rice tasted like just microwaved white rice. No seasoning and legit 2 pieces of pineapple in the burrito. They gave us 2 week old expired apple slices. My husband got 2 margaritas. He said they were good, not very strong. The plantains were amazing! Highly rrecommend those. Food came out fast. Service was good as expected- they have a QR code you scan and they bring to you. I hope they continue to take this feedback and improve upon the taste of the food and food quality.
