We chanced upon this small and amazing jem of a restaurant in our walk in the small steets off the main area. We went in to check the lunch menu and were impressed. Home made & flavourful cuisine, where the locals eat. The place was packed. The food was excellent - I ordered the plat de dia with staffed calamari, salad and mush potatoes, my husband had the grilled pork steak with french fries, and a soup. The service was excellent, the prices were great (a soup, order of olives, 2 full meals, 1.5 L cold water bottle and 2 desserts were €23). Highly recommend. We where looking for a lunch place and happend to drop in here. It was exactly what we needed. Super friendly people. lots of lokal guest. Fresh homecooked meals. Lokal dishes but also things like frensh fries. Verry good price. And what a friendly welcome by the owner. Hope to come back some time. Great experience! The people were very welcoming to us tourists, and it's something that counts much to me. They were patient and let me practice my Portuguese by placing my order, without the impatience that is quite usual in Portugal. It's all the more remarkable that English and French are also spoken. Thumbs up! Both the middle-aged man and the lovely young woman we had as waitress were affable and concerned by our well-being. Our party of two had salads with our pratos do dia (fried mackerels with tomato rice, and lombos de porco with French fries), two Sagres Bohemia beers and desserts, all for 27€. What a wonderful restaurant. We went there to have Bifanas which were excellent. Also tried the veggie soup - it tasted like my grandma made it! Good coffee and pastries as well. Prices are good. The owners and staff and even local guests were extremely nice. Thank you for creating such a memorable experience! Hope to come back soon.

We stopped by here to take some coffee and sandwiches to go with us as we are leaving Évora today. It seems to be a local spot. The owner was so lovely. I really wish we came sooner so that we could have sat down and tried other food that they have.

Came here because of the reviews and it didn’t disappoint. The owner spoke perfect English and the place had numerous locals (usually a good sign when travelling). Both the soup of the day and tosta mista were delicious and the service was the best we’ve had in Portugal so far. When we got the bill I thought they forgot something it was so inexpensive.
