My wife had been hinting at wanting to try Smallcakes for quite sometime. We live in Tustin and with the virus and different work schedules just hadn't made it out here. So, I finally did and of course by myself couldn't decide and wanted to surpise her, so I couldn't go wrong with a dozen! Right? Let me say they were ALL amazing. Moist, fresh, and lived up to the hype. However, my only downfall... she wanted carrot cake! She's never been a fan but, that's apparently her new favorite thanks to them. (I didn't know she had already tried them at a work event) They do custom cakes which we typically order for our niece and nephews bdays from local groceries stores. I saw some as they packed my order and they looked legit! Definitely earned a new customer. Thanks smallcakes!

I received a box of cupcakes from Smallcakes and the box said "Happy Birthday, Mom!" -- no sender. I called the place the following day and talked to a very rude lady named Sienna (or something like that -- she refused to spell her name : ) She said she does not have time to check and if she isn't given a name, she couldn't trace the sender. Wasn't even apologetic of the fact that they made a big booboo -- not specifying the sender's name in a gift is so unfair to the sender. The sender is the one who gave you business. When I started giving her my last name (because it could be one of my kids), she gave out a big sigh and said she doesn't have the time. DO NOT THINK OF ORDERING ONLINE FROM THIS STORE. I ended up calling all my kids and asked if they sent me cupcakes. My daughter was so upset that they did not place her name. UPDATE: - Smallcakes' reply saying that it was the delivery company's fault and not even apologetic just shows this company isn't worth our time, money and effort. Not putting a name on the gift is a mistake, and we all make mistakes, that is fine and excusable. All that was needed at that time was a sorry, an explanation and the willingness to help. But being rude when I called was what made me make this review. No customer service, and the cupcakes are not even worth the price at all. Go somewhere else, please.

🧁•𝐒𝗪𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐒 𝐎’𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐊•🧁⁣⁣ •⁣⁣ 🧁 are you a big fan of cupcakes? Not me. That’s not usually something I’d look for. But all that has changed with Small Cakes in 𝘞𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 . Most of the cakes I’ve run into here are dry and overly sweet, which can be a turn-off for me. 🧁 The cupcakes at Small Cakes are moist, creamy with just the right amount of sweetness 😇. Small cakes has always been able to accommodate any special orders that I have had. They've made custom cupcakes for all occasions. I am so grateful for the beautiful work that they put in. They also carry pupcakes that both my dog and cat love!

Unfortunately, I ended up lowering my review due to commissioning them to make a cake for my 6 month old's "1/2 way there" and it came out a wreck. I was not at all impressed with how it turned out and based off of their social media pictures they've done much better work. I'm not sure if my cake was made by someone who was learning, but I disliked it so much I didn't even use it for pictures. It seemed to also have been over-chilled and maybe even frozen, so when we actually attempted to eat the cake, which is usually really tasty and moist from Smallcakes was very hard and dried out tasting. I should also mention, they chose to put wires in the cake for an effect as well as loose fondant pieces on the front cake sheet, which they got all wrong from what I wanted and was all extremely unsafe to have on a cake for an infant. They did not even add his name, which I had asked for as well. I highly recommend only coming here for cupcakes and not cake. Leave the cake decorating to another company who can handle the job. I paid $65 for this and it was a complete waste.

Ordered a peanut butter birthday cake here and it was delicious! They helped me last minute when I called as the other place was closed for the holiday. They were friendly and polite and got me in and out in a few mins. I usually go to the el segundo location but they couldn't make me a cake in time. Thank you again.

Purchased for a retirement party. Sweet treats after a big dinner! These two bite wonders are perfect i think in lemon, almond or chocolate.

Ordered a half dozen cupcakes for my birthday and they came in a sturdy cardboard box that was taped shut. It wasn't a hot day out, and I picked these up immediately as my doordasher dropped them off. All of the cupcakes were moderately to severely blemished. One of them looked like it had been dropped frosting side on the bottom of the box and just scraped off and placed back in the holder. The others looked like they had been picked up by the frosting and had finger indents around the sides/smeared the design and frosting on top. Really disappointing, and I don't think this is any fault of my dasher or any kind of heat since the box was taped shut, looked in perfect condition (didn't look dropped or anything) and it was a cool temperature outside all that day. All of the cupcakes were still placed evenly in the little holder, and no frosting smeared on the side or the top of the box, so I genuinely think the issue came with whoever placed them in the box. Only giving two stars since it was still technically edible, but will not be purchasing from this bakery again.

Love this shop. Ordered our fab 6 today; lemon drop, salted caramel, birthday cake, hot fudge sundae, wedding cake, and chocolate with a whipped cream frosting (amazing). So delicious and great customer service. The packaging is so pretty too.

Best cupcakes in OC. What I love: They have seasonal flavors, bigger size cupcakes, never dry - cupcakes are always moist, and they aren't full of aritificle tasting ingredients (like the strawberry has chunks of real strawberries!) Do yourself a favor and try the chocolate cream....omg it's to die for!
