The dishes generally were ok but nothing extraordinary. Do check and ask more specifically when ordering the fish. We were told they were able to serve us half of the steam fish as only 3 of us eating, in the end, one whole fish weight 1.3kg was served. When we raised our concern, the staff told us that half portion only applicable for a bigger fish and a 1.3kg fish was too small for them to do that. If that was the case, why didn’t they keep us informed and seek our consent to proceed with the order? Nonetheless, we didn’t want to create a scene and complete our meal with dissatisfaction.

Been patronising this restaurant for 30 years now. Food's still okay. But got shocked by the latest visit after an absence since 2021. Food portion has shrunk with the taste altered...but the price has really gone up humongously! Paid nearly RM500 for this simple dishes. At that price, might as well go to Mun Choong Restaurant which tastes more grand in terms of big restaurant pricing. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

What a pleasent place for dining, friendly people and very accommodating. We ordered the crispy tofu, sesame oil chicken and under the recommendation for a steamed fish (龙须公鱼),the fish was surprisingly delicious, the sesame oil chicken however was just as expected. In all we would like to recommend this 40-year old establishment. $$$ Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 180–200 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes Golden Tofu with Minced Pork & Shrimp

Chanced upon the Google review and decided to try at this restaurant. Didn't regret. Their signature dishes are really worth trying, and the bosses are friendly and welcoming. Ordered their signature hor fun, came with quality 1" cockles and fresh prawns. Highly recommended to try here. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Found this restaurant through random search for dinner place in Ipoh. So grateful that we made the decision to try it out and turned up early before 5:30pm via walk in. Food was delicious and service was good. The Signature spare rib 火焰排骨 was really good. Recommended the fried hor fun with prawn and cockles to go with their home made chillies. Paired the hor fun with the watercress soup. End the meal with the lychee lemongrass jelly was an excellent choice. Will certainly come back again. This place is very crowded even though its a weekday and reservation is needed. You can get it done via online. The food is average only and most of the bestsellers especially the claypot fish need to wait around 45mins. The prices in the menu is on the high side which is comparable dining in the restaurant.. My biggest letdown when they charged for a plate of extra ginger 🫚 paste (for steam chicken). Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 40–60 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

This was a last min addition to our itinerary, but wow, the food here blew me away. It's easily one of the best meals I had in Ipoh. The kailan was delicious, with crispy leaves and crunchy stalks, plus other ingredients like chestnut. The fish was tender n fragrant with tasty garlic that melts in your mouth. The tofu dish was soft and silky and tasty. The chicken dish was also delicious. Highly recommended! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Highly recommend the fried hor fun which was drenched with crispy pork lard and goes really well with the sambal belachan. Pork ribs was the other standout dish. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 40–60 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Saw this place from google review and decided to try with family. The food didn’t disappoint. We have XO grouper fish which was fantastic, vegetable cooked in white wine which was delicious, sweet and sour pork/fried chicken were ok, signature tofu and the lotus soup was nice. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 60–80 Recommended dishes Signature Tofu
Delicious local food and seafood! There’s 2 of us and we ordered a plate of horfun, the signature fried kailan n the claypot prawn. Portion really very big for 2 pax cos the vegetables only had 1 size to order. Ipoh Horfun - rm58 Really v v good! So smooth and well seasoned with hint of wok hey. There were about 8 to 10 super big (thumb size) cockles as well! Claypot Prawn - rm109 There’s 2 types of prawn: sea and river prawn. Upon reaching, we were told that the river prawn had only left with the xxl size which will cost rm80 per piece, so went ahead with the sea prawn XL. It’s reasonably big, but alittle expensive. The sauce was tomato base like sweet and sour, not bad. Still prefer Singapore chilli crab sauce. Fried Kailan with yellow wine - rm48 It had various textures of vegetables in it: fried kailan leaves, stir fried kailan stalk n water chestnut. Chef really did put in effort for the various textures in this dish. The ending note of each bite was yellow wine. Really addictive. It’s not your usual vegetable dish in a Chinese restaurant. The horfun is really gooddd! Will be back again for this and to try other dishes. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person RM 120–140 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
