Great place with great service and deliciuos food. Went to smoke shisha and had a great experience. Communal tables for large groups of people are super comfy. The owner is a great host and welcomes every guest. If you want to chill and relax and spend some great time with friends it is a perfect spot.

The atmosphere was very relaxing. The food was outstanding. People working here are very authentic and very relaxed. What a great place to hang out. It stands out and separates itself among the other establishments in Tulum. I highly recommend it.

The food was delicious, we ordered samosa and Vegetarian thali, we felt like home since the beginning and so does the food. They have lot of flavors of Sheesha which were really good. The seating is super comfy like you can fold your legs and sit comfortably or lay down. The service was fast. Everybody were so friendly also it’s a dog friendly restaurant. Overall highly recommended. Must visit when in Tulum.

The best Indian food I’ve had EVER! The food is prepared homestyle so it’s light, delicious yet leave you satisfied walking out the door. I had the Samosa, Nan Bread & the Pepper Chicken & every dish had mouth watering flavors & exceeded my expectations. If you are in Tulum & love Indian food, please stop into Shiva for dinner. Very casual but a nice vibe & gets the job done. Will be visiting Shiva again & I hope the owner opens a spot in NYC where he lives part time. I need that accessible to be 24/7 :)

What a bizarre dining experience. First off: the food was delicious we cleaned our plates.
That being said: the service was insane. The presumptive owner (an upscale British guy) introduced us to the menu as if we had never heard of Indian food before (as if we didn’t go to this restaurant specifically for its cuisine). We were then simultaneously waited on by all three front of house staff members, and yet still neglected. Our drinks and utensils came out only when we asked, and our appetizer never arrived at all. The whole place felt like a huge top-down miscommunication issue, something I reflect on with a decade of restaurant experience.
The owner came by after our meal and complained that I hadn’t eaten the food correctly, despite not noticing us our entire meal. He was upset that I had combined my rice with my meat/sauce to take home. As someone who regularly eats Indian food, this is a personal preference, and I don’t think it’s the place of the owner to scold his clientele on cultural competency….in Tulum, Mexico of all places. The rice DID soak up all of the delicious sauce and the leftovers were fantastic. IMO the owner needs to take a backseat because he’s ruining his own restaurant.

Shiva is the best dinner we’ve had in Tulum. Was in a major craving for Indian, so the bar was high and they definitely delivered. Food was great (Samosas were 💯) and the owner was attentive and helpful. Can’t wait to come back.
