Here you can choose your own fresh seafood and cook any way you like it. Very clean and also very foreigner friendly. They also provide cutlery (if you don't want to traditionally eat with your hand like locals)
We ordered a small whole grilled fish with dipping sauce, butter prawns, kangkong spinach with rice. So cheap, only $30 MYR for our meal for 2 people. Great local food and experience.

started eating here since about 3-4 years ago.
if arrive right after they open which is before 6pm, even on weekends and it's crowded, usually the waiting time for ikan bakar is 30 minutes whilst for the prawns only about 15 minutes. the waiting time is even shorter than you think on weekdays. (btw not recommend to come on puasa month, bcs once we went here all the way from ampang only to find out it's fully booked by motorcycle group riders) we never wait till night time to eat here, since we knew the later the time, the more crowded it becomes.
we went to a couple ikan bakar restaurants before, including in pantai bagan lalang and pantai remis, here is the one with: (relatively) the shortest waiting time, the most delicious yet affordable one. for 2 pax, others can easily costs rm80+ but here it's normally rm60++. (1 ikan bawal, prawns, 1 sup kosong, 2 rice and beverage) and they do have ikan bawal whilst the other restaurants we went don't have it.
also, they have a card machine. which is very convenient, especially it even receives payment from unionpay debit card.
this place is a default for us if we want to eat ikan bakar on a beach area.

Senandung Malam has long been known as a to-go seafood restaurant if you are ever in Sg Pelek area. The seafood are fresh and the service was quite fast considering the crowd.

Terribly bad service especially on a weekend. The queue to order was so long almost 30people in line before our turn. We went with 2 toddlers and was told to wait until we finished ordering to get a table to sit when actually there were many empty tables. Very unreasonable service. The least they could have done was allocate an empty table for families with children. And the waiter are so rude its unbelievable. Would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are many more ikan bakar restaurants with good service and delicious food just nearby. Too much hype because its right in front of the beach.

I come to this place many many times. And no matter how many people there is, food always comes fast, correct and good!!!
They always have a very nice selection of fish and many different seafood (cuttlefish, different types of prawns, different types of shells and clams).
The atmosphere is good. 10 seconds walk to the public beach. Many stalls selling different things on the side.
Come!!! A must!!!

We ate here twice during our weeks stay at the Avani Hotel. Huge choice, fresh seafood, and all absolutely delicious. Struggled with the Malay menu a little - and the team including the main chef helped us out a treat! Ordered a banquet and ate every last bit of it, including our 14 month daughter. 2 nights later, we took the rest of the family. Can't recommend this restaurant enough. The first night, it was bucketing it down with rain. They even rang the hotel to come pick us up!

this restaurant's view is the beach, and there is very ample space for dining and also parking. you have to choose your seafood yourself and how you want it to be cooked. the service is fast, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Seafood is so fresh, and price wise, it is cheap. just look at the kerang bakar and kerang rebus, the flesh is plump and it's very juicy. you have to give their kerang a try

Restaurant is large and can accommodate large groups. As long as you book ahead, the food arrives pretty fast.
The food was amazing, with many varieties of seafood such as pepahat, udang, siakap, jenahak cooked in many different styles like butter, steamed, 3 rasa, goreng etc. Other dishes were great too like kailan, kangkong, tomyam campur and plentiful of rice.
For drinks we ordered jugs of 2 flavors, watermelon and orange juice which tasted pretty natural with added sweetener which makes a refreshing drink. My only complaint is the I didn’t order more :D
