We came to try the food because my coworker/friend REALLY wanted some soul food....I should have run for the hills when I saw the name but alas, we tried it anyway. Problem #1 - My cabbage was flavored...no seasoning at all, only made edible once I added salt & pepper and then only slightly so. Problem #2 - the mac & cheese was dried out, old, and had absolutely no flavor...see photos Problem #3 - The fried shrimp has just a touch more seasoning than the unseasoned chicken...but was full of mostly breading. Problem #4 &5 - my friend made me taste her chicken to prove to me that it had ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR...and she was RIGHT...no seasoning AT ALL! At least it wasn't dry, but HOW can it have NO FLAVOR??? And the greens were sooooooo salty I actually almost spit them out and feltty pressure rise as I swallowed the forkful. Finally, it's really hard to mess up cornbread...but trying to swallow the dryyyyyy cornbread was a task, although the flavor was better than everything else. If you're hungry...pick another place! If you like seafood then you will love this place. I love the sides they add to their meals. The yams and macaroni are good choices for sides. I had the scallops and they were phenomenal. The salmon looked amazing too. You honestly can't go wrong with whatever you choose. I wish indoor dining was open because their inside looked very inviting as well.

Food good just too salty, guess the cook is use to his food being salty, not realizing that customers don't have the same taste, geens were super salty like spit out your mouth right away salty. Way too much salt on greens. I ordered a fried salmon platter from them today. My 2 sides were Mac and cheese and collard greens. My fried salmon was basically fried breading with a little salmon added. I didn’t know I ordered fried bread crumbs. My Mac and cheese and collard greens were not seasoned at all. Very dissatisfied with my entire meal. I didn’t eat any of it after tasting the bland sides and seeing the sad excuse I was given for fried salmon.

I am very disappointed with my order. I got a half pound of mussels and I add a sausage to my order. Also I asked for my order to be original Cajun , Spicy. Well that is not what I received I received less than a half pound of mussels. I weigh my entire platter with the mussels sausage and sauce and it was still less than a half pound which is very very disappointing. I don't recommend them for seafood. And when I said something to the cashier about my order he basically just stood there and never said a thing. The cook came to the front and just rolled his eyes and never said a thing. My son and I decided to try this place on a whim. My son had the fried fish platter with greens and rice and gravy. The fish was fried to a golden crisp. The crunch and taste on it was great. It was a bit salty for MY taste (I have a low tolerance for salt if any kind). The rice and gravy was awesome according to him but the greens had to go. I had BBQ oxtails with greens and string beans (this was a mistake because I asked for Mac and cheese 😒). The oxtails were great, just not enough of them. The string beans needed flavor to them. To be honest, they tasted like beans from a can. It needs some smoked turkey legs, garlic and onion powder and a dash of red pepper flakes. The same goes for the collard greens. First, there were too many stems in the greens. Second, cut them smaller because no one wants a whole tree leaf on their fork and then try to chew it. Third, add seasonings. If you make a few tweaks, it would be much better. Carrot cake was so good and did not want to share but I did. I will try them again because they have potential.... Looking at most comments- Seasonings are the issue. From a chef's point of view, all of these can be corrected with least effort and you should do well.

My sisters and I went on a whim.. well, the cool cashier, Jessica, told us we would enjoy the food. Well, we did!! The turkey wings, beef short ribs, fried catfish, greens, mac n cheese... well.. ALL of what we ordered was delicious!! Even the cakes for dessert.. We'll definitely do it again! Oh, let me say this.. IT'S UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT!! I liked when the Asians own it they cooked with love.. I said I would give them another try after the wings were burnt and they didn’t give me my corn bread.. second time I had to tell them not to burn the wings.. they didn’t but when I asked for Lima beans they gave me Lima bean skins and the gravy.. the potatoe salad was crunchy and it wasn’t delicious. Ok I said one more time.. I ordered my usual turkey wings rice n gravy potatoe salad and cabbage because they didn’t have Lima beans.. after waiting for a while I finally got my order… took it home and turkey wings were sooo hard the potatoe salad was crunchy and the cabbage taste like water. I will NOT go there any more. The food was not seasoned. The cook can’t cook. The order was messed up, was missing side items. Ordered a seafood boil - got seafood no boil - the French fries did not have Cajun seasoning. Will not be going back. I asked for shrimp got scallops. Overall was just disappointed. Host was very sweet though. I guess that’s a plus. Service Take out
