Very friendly staff that I must agree. We had steam fish - quite disappointed as it was not very fresh. Butter prawns was good and bamboo clam - sorry not to my liking. The food is mild flavour, the fish is fresh which is the highlight, didnt know we were ordering crab meat soup( RM90) when we wanted to order tofu soup (tofu kang), the waitress act like they know but you must explain clearly to them. We didnt continue eating the soup since it has no flavour, not even meaty, basically just taste like plain water. Complained but waitress said nothing about it. The chef is Malay. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

A restaurant in Bagan Hailam offering chinese cooking style seafood dishes. Chinese-muslim boss with muslim staff should provide comfort to muslim patrons. As for the dishes, there are some little and understandable variations. The hainanese noodle is closer to mee hailam style, using yellow noodle instead of the broader hokkien noodle. But the cooking is alright. The kam heong lala has good thick flavoursome taste. The salted egg sotong was disappointing, fried dry with little salty egg taste on it. Marmite mantis prawn has good crunch and was delicious. The butter prawn was excellent, fresh prawn with fragrant creamy flavour. Some hit and some misses. The premise next to the river offer a good view of the port and a different dining experience. What Rahmat Tan differs to many was the excellent service. Courteous and prompt staff adds to the pleasant atmosphere. Parking wasn't a problem. After that just follow the signage. Though price on high side, I think the portion slightly more than other seafood restaurant. Clean restaurant. Bit of walk from parking to restaurant, have to pass besides other people's houses on the way.
