Beautiful setting! We came twice during our 1 week stay in Madeira because we loved walking through the banana plantation then sitting by the ocean here for lunch. The food isn’t the best but the prego especial was very good and a generous portion. Shrimp were dry. Prices aren’t that bad when you think about how hard it is to reach this place! I strongly advise against! 1h15 waiting for the starter and 10 minutes more for the dishes which are disgusting... Runaway servers who avoid customers. I therefore advise you to take a picnic to enjoy the beautiful landscape at the edge of the beach. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €25–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

This a delightful restaurant in a stunning location. The food was exceptional. We didn't have to wait long for our order and the service was very friendly and courteous. Well worth the 10 euro cable car ride to get there. Can't understand the moaning reviews. Just no pleasing some people. Will definitely be coming back.

I could probably give 5 stars just for the amazing location. Food was nice and bonus points for vegetarian options (penne or couscous with vegetables from the garden), but especially the veggie options could use some more herbs or spices and they seemed much worse value for money when compared to the fish with banana which was only slightly more expensive while the portion was very large. Nice desserts especially the “daily surprise”. A bit expensive but worth it for the view.

This is a little gem of a place is only accessible via the epic cable car or by boat. Restaurante Fajã dos Padres is tucked away beneath the overlooking steep cliff edge. Here you can get fresh and tasty seafood meals and refreshing drinks served to your table flanked by palm trees and overlooking the North Atlantic ocean. And if the weather isn't too windy you can take a dip (there are changing rooms and a shower) - a must visit if you're lucky enough to find yourself on Madeira. Worth booking during peak season or at weekends. Enjoy!

When we got to this restaurant, all the tables were either taken or reserved. Nevertheless, we spoke to one of the staff members, who told us to come back in 30 minutes. Half an hour later we were seated at the best available table, by the seafront below a palm tree. Remarkable level of client service matched by the excellent food served here. All in all, it was a great experience.

Long wait for cold food that was incomplete and overpriced. Staff offered to make up for it by giving us fruit. Not kidding. Salad with squid, shrimp and fruit had no fruit was kinda tasteless like frozen and contained no fruit. House speciality fried scabbard with banana was cold on arrival. If I wasn’t so hungry after waiting 45mins I would have left. I feel sorry for the staff who seem overstretched. However there were only like 10 tables so I dunno what’s going on here. I can’t really recommend, the location is so nice it is such a missed opportunity. Go to the supermarket and bring your own snacks and you will be happier - guaranteed.
