My most favourite restaurant so far! The owner has been doing this for 29 years and I can tell he still loves serving. The food is amazing! I will be coming back to the city just to eat at this place. It's a bit of a wait because they only have 11 seats but it's worth it. We waited 45 mins and I would wait again. This will always be standout place for me. I can rate it as one of the most memorable eating experiences based on the charming nature of the owner, with great attention and a beautiful disposition. Lovely food, only about 12 places eating at bar in a place full of character. I ate roasted cheese, then quails eggs with local sausage. Lovely local red wine. Brilliant! Thank you so much. Wow! This was probably the best food experience we had in our 12-day vacation in Portugal. The food is beyond delicious! The place is really small so you see the owner (Domingos) and his wife doing everything. It's a must go if you are around that area!! I would even drive a couple of hours just to eat there. One of the best Portuguese food experiences in Portugal. Domingos and his wife make for an amazing lunch. We would come back to Évora just for this special place. We eat a lot so probably spent more than most would, but worth it. Service Dine in Price per person €40–45

Best Portugese lunch we had in Portugal. We had a great experience with the host/owner of the restaurant and we loved the food. Food is reasonably priced as well. Welcoming small bar seating. The owner has a big heart and fun to chat. The food was espetacular! I Had fish with salad, wine. My husband had the steak and potatoes everything was top of expectation. I heard good things about it and its defiantly true. We love it. After experiencing the Botequim with Domingos (the owner ) walking around the area is recommended ;)

Foodies: do not miss this! This was among the very best meals we had on a month in Portugal. A husband and wife serve refined country cooking in a 9 seat lunch counter restaurant. Take the owners recommendations for dishes including the asparagus eggs and cod bras style. All is freshly prepared, including the homemade potato chips. The wine selection is exceptional, the service warm and friendly, but the food is the star, truly the highest standard of country cooking. It is not the least expensive lunch you will find, but if you are a foodie so well worth it. Appetizers are maybe in the 10e range with mains in the 15-20e range, but trust me that you will want to try everything once you start tasting the food. The trick to get a seat for lunch is to arrive just before 12:30 when it opens, after that wait until about 1:30-2 when folks are leaving and tap on pop in the door to let him know you will wait (there is no list). The lunch hours are wrong on google, it does not close until 3:45 which leaves plenty of time for a second lunch seating. Friendliest owner and best food! What a little gem of a place! Very cute place, but fills up quickly so get there early. We got the grilled mushrooms, grilled cheese, and ham with melon for starters. It was all so fresh and delicious! The portions were so large so we got only two mains, the codfish and the grilled pork. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

So, this has to be one of the best lunches I've ever had and that we have had as a family. And, yes, we over ordered and ate it all. It is that good. The owner has had this place for 27 years. People kept coming in asking for a table and there was no room (10 seats). Order the peppers, cheese and jam, ham and melon, fish, pork, steak. It is all magnificent!

Fantastic, fantastic place. We were so lucky to get a place during lunch. Only because someone had just finished their lunch, we could take their seat. The restaurant is tiny but it does not feel crammed or small (speaking as someone who is almost 2m and weighs 100kg). Guests are sitting and eating at the bar, not unlike one of these high end Japanese sushi bars. The food is similarly fresh and local. Presunto is mind blowing, bacalhau fragrant and flavorful, wine pairing perfect and the service charming.
