I went to this restaurant yesterday and what I witnessed was absolutely horrific. The owner was rude and absolutely hateful towards an elderly couple just because they were Canadian, and this man had the audacity to approach my table and say “to ignore these people they’re Canadian. Don’t get me started with the Americans! They’re even worse!” But what he didn’t now was my granddaughter and two son’s were both American. I was lost for words, I didn’t have it in me to say anything, this was just unbelievable. I suggest to find anywhere else. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Awful food and worse the hostility to tourists. The paella was over cooked and the niscoise salad had tinned tuna and no sardines or parmigiana nor egg just awfully done. The owner and his waiter wouldn’t allow us to do it in pounds only euro. When we said no he took my card and did it again as euros. Terrible food and rude people with bullying tactics. Decent authentic Portuguese food, at slightly expensive prices. We ordered sardines and a pork/mussels specialty, which were both very good. The waiter was friendly and took our order promptly, which we liked. The portions were decently sized and we left with a full stomach, always a positive. I also had a coffee at the end of the meal, which was better than most places. If I have one negative, it's the fact that it was a bit overpriced for the location.

Amazing food!! The quality was fresh! I recommend the lamb and mint! The sauce was stunning and the kids pork dinner with chips and veg, was a very good size! Highly recommend this tasty food! Full of flavour!! Friendly service too!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I blame us for not reading the reviews and not walking out when we saw the rusted tables, sick cats and the mouldy high chair they brought for my daughter. We ordered the food from the day menu as I thought it is safer. The ribs smelled vile, the lamb was disappointing. I will not mention the service as many have already. The only decent thing was the bread. If you are sitting down at your table getting ready to order, just don’t. Do yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere. Very rude waiter. Some older guy. They put bread and butter on the table without asking and of course it's on the bill. Ridicilous. We ask for lobster but the guys says no we dont have it and per 100 gram its 9.90€ so total its 60€ which we could not afford according to him. What? Like he can look in our wallet. Also many other rude talk of the guy. Food is nothing special. I now understand why it was so quiet there and other places busy. Just quit if you don't like your job. In reading reviews- after the fact, it seems who your server is makes all the difference. We sat down, asked about specials and we’re told “yes, specials”. Then our waiter dropped bread and carrots on the table. Knowing that these aren’t free in Portugal unlike Canada, we made the mistake of asking the cost. Our waiter then tried to give us a rude lesson on Portugal and that they don’t ask the price blah blah. We got up and left and could still hear him ranting and raving as we walked down the street. Must have been having a bad day. Too bad, I would’ve like to try the lamb!! Service Dine in Meal type Other

My wife and I stopped by for dinner on our last night in Portimao. Should have realized that other places were full and this place only had 1 other couple dining. Once seated the server dropped a bread bowl and a bowl of carrots. I made the mistake of asking him how much...which I did in all restaurants. He immediately went into a tirade about this is Portugal and this is what we do. He got abrasive and very rude and started yelling "how much" to the others couple and then other server. We got up and left. Portimao has many wonderful places to dine. Everywhere we are the servers bent over backwards to make your dining experience special. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place.
