I'm being very generous giving this place 2 stars overall. My review is the opposite of the majority here. I see a lot of people saying the food was amazing and the service was bad, but I had the opposite experience. I made the mistake of ordering the salmon poke thinking the fish would be super fresh given how good the seafood has generally been in Portugal. Man, was I wrong! It looked good at first, but then I took a bite of the salmon and not only was it slimey, but I also noticed a few pieces were brown/grayish. The last time I had raw salmon that looked like that was in Spain and I got terrible food poisoning for 4 to 5 days. When I told the waiter this and showed him the brown/grey salmon, he immediately called the owner over who was quick to defend the dish saying that "Oh it's raw, that's what happens to raw salmon". I told him no that's not true. I've actually had salmon and tuna poke in Hawaii where the dish originated a few times and I eat sushi often back home. Aside from the one time in Spain when I got food poisoning, I have NEVER in my life had raw salmon that looked like that. Not wanting to risk getting food poisoning again,I decided not to eat the salmon portion of the dish. When the waiter came by to collect mine and my husband's plates, he saw that I didn't touch the salmon and he was super apologetic. He offered to bring me another dish and kept apologizing but I declined and told him it's not his fault. The old man (who I'm assuming is the owner) kept insisting there was nothing wrong with the fish. Nah man. I know what fresh raw salmon looks like and that definitely wasn't it. I wasn't going to ruin another vacation that I worked hard for over a few cubes of fish. The worst part is the owner was very rude and still made me pay for that dish. He said I could order something else if I wanted, but he was still going to charge for at least one meal. Do you really think I'd want to order something else after that?? Nope. Now I understand why thr poke was cheaper than the other places in this area. They're just trying to unload it as quickly as possible.
