A pozole restaurant you must try while in Cancun. Its pozole has very rich taste and amazing balance of spices. The hominy are mashed half way so the soup has strong corn flavor. Green pozole comes along with a plate of appetizers, including chicharron, fried rolls, radish, lime, tortilla chips, cheese and avocado. The pork and chicken mix are so good. Highly recommended! A fantastic back street, family run restaurant. We arrived to an empty restaurant with staff/owners watching TV, chatting and chopping onions at a table in the restaurant. Don't expect any frills here. Do expect huge portions of freshly, lovingly and expertly cooked traditional food. We completely over ate! The service was super friendly, kind and helpful. The decor is unique and the food delicious. This is for people wanting a proper local experience. Enjoy ❤️ Meal type Dinner Price per person $400–500 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
What an awesome family run restaurant we found. The giant mango tree in front was blooming and has plenty of ripen mangoes. We came here around 6pm and the restaurant wasn’t busy. We ordered the Tamale Oaxaquenos, Pozole verde, and Tampiquena. We never had Oaxaca tamale before but this tasted good! The tamale is like twice the size of the tamale you normally get. The pozole was flavorful, slightly thicker broth compared to the pozole verde we had before. It’s very good though. The Tampiquena came with grilled beef and also one chicken enchilada topped with mole. They are very good too. Highly recommend you visit this restaurant if you are in downtown near to ADO bus terminal.

Amazing food and portion size too. The servers are kind and friendly. They try to speak English with you but for the most part you’ll just have to point to the items you want in the menu. When I was there I think most of the people in the restaurant were family friends. They were just chilling there and watching tv together. I ordered the red pork pozole. It tasted like Korean 육계장 if you ever tried that before. It came with a side dish of random assorted things like tortillas, avocado, fried jalapeños. Overall an awesome place to visit if you happen to be in Downtown Cancun! Total cost was 161 pesos with beer included.

My experience at this local restaurant was rather disappointing. Despite requesting guacamole, what arrived was a bland, mashed version lacking any spice. The service was notably slow, with a prolonged wait for our food, giving off an unwelcoming vibe. The portions were on the smaller side, and overall, the impression was that our presence wasn't particularly valued. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment based on my visit. Pozole was delicious and comes with "botana" (side dishes). They have other options for Mexican food in a very traditional fashion. It's a small rural oasis just a few steps from ADO bus station. At the entrance you're welcomed by a huge mango tree and a sing that says "Since 1980" which is a lot for a young city like Cancun. Menu is varied with tamales, salutes, tacos and other Mexican dishes. They have their small memories corner with some historic photos of Cancun. Attention is not fast, so come here with some time to spare. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

tasty authentic Mexican food. The place is run by a family with 3 women cooking in the back. It always has locals in it . No atmoshphere or music , just good home-made dishes. They mainly speak spanish. The menu is on the billboard in the front . Yummy
Loved it here, super nice atmosphere, patio and the owner was very nice and sat down to talk to me for a bit, told me the history of the place... They’ve been on for 40 years and they offer delicious home made food. Simple but delicious and you can feel it’s home food. Got the chile relleno, an empanada with cheese, and a delicious soup. Totally worth it and will go back when I am in Cancun.
Lovely experience having authentic Mexican food at this place. Seems like a family run business. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $100–200 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
