I don’t imagine that anyone else will have the same experience but we were looking for a true New Zealand bar and as we were slowly surrounded by locals we felt as if we wouldn’t be in any other place on earth. For sure on my top 10 of nights out with a pint. Atmosphere: 5

Only popped in for the bathroom (sorry) but place was cozy with a few locals playing some pool and some live music!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Seeing Micks plaque still on the corner of the bar made a Guinness taste like the best drink to bring back the delightful memories of our homestead of old. Long live the Hokitika Railway.

Passing by (non local) and popped in for a bevvy. Good atmosphere, very rustic and busy with locals. Reasonably priced beer, pool table and all the typical amenities you find in an Oceanic pub. They pump classic music from the speakers. Feels like gone back in time. Enjoyable.

We arrived late for lunch and almost everywhere else was closed but they accommodated us and it was a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend!
Bloody awesome , made you feel welcome, took good care of everything and lived up to their standards give them a try.
A classic pub full of character. Equipped with a pool table and jukebox as well pokie machines. The floors are sticky at the bar and the beer on tap is as standard as it gets. I sat at a tall table perched on old worn out blue carpet which has seen many a traveller as well as locals. On my right, a view out of the grey curtained windows on the town centre. On my left, a screen with the cricket. Absolutely perfect. A must see if you are looking for a genuine pub with character and kiwi soul.
