One of the wonders of the Azores islands, They grow the coffee there and serve it with local pastries. Don't miss it when on the island. Coffee is all organic and hand made. local traditional crafts are also practiced to produce useful tasteful souvenirs to purchase.
Very pleasent, the host was very nice and the coffee was very good, pulse the store in the back was a pleasant surprise.
We paid €1 each for the “plantation tour” but the only thing we got was a quick look at a small garden with the coffee trees and a multimedia presentation (photo slides with a few videos) with scrolling text. The staff did not even provide any explanation of the coffee production and could not answer basic questions like how much coffee they produce. The sign in Quinta do Cafe also said “€1 coffee per person” for the plantation tour, but apparently it’s €1 per person and you need to pay extra to try the coffee. We understand that it’s a small-scale production but the tour could have been better executed. As a visitor, I would have been willing to buy a bag of coffee beans but I would’ve wanted to try it first as part of the tour.
Last august 6th, 2019 me and a friend, we visited Quinta do Café at Faja dos Vimes. We tasted their excellent coffe at their little coffe and souvenir shop. We bought a couple of small coffe bags. After our return to Tarragona, Catalonia we fall in love with that unforgetable coffe taste, and we tried to buy more online. Unfortunately, the contact with the quinta owners was very sporadic and discontinuous in time, and finally we weren't able to buy more coffe from them. We would appreciate to contact with them to buy some bags more. Please contact us at this email address: [email protected]
I don't know where is the hospitality that is widely mentioned in the guidebooks .. The owner can't speak english and didn't suggest anything about coffee plantation. I didn't drive 10km full of curves just to drink this coffee.
Friendly welcome, home grown coffee, cakes and wonderful loom work. Service Dine in Meal type Other Price per person €10–15
