The prices are unbelievable! And sandwiches come with soup or fries. (Get their soups, incredible and all homemade.) they have an extensive list of daily specials all under $13.95 (including the soup.
Huge menu. Their meatballs and gravy are homemade, so is their coleslaw and tartar sauce. Service is great. After 40 yrs in the restaurant biz, they know how to do it right!
They have a fun 50’s theme with Elvis memorabilia. Even the bathroom have fun 50’s decor.
But number 1, to die for, is their homefroes. Sliced thin with onions (on request), super crispy! The best I’ve ever had!!!

Enjoyable atmosphere, small diner, maybe 15 tables, but a Hardy New Jersey breakfast with scrapple, pork roll, corned beef hash are all on the menu with your normal breakfast fair
I’ve been here several times, and the coffee keeps coming and they don’t rush you out the door like some places do. This is my choice place to go when I get together with other retirees who I worked with for decades.
This is a hearty breakfast/lunch place. I’ve had both and fairly good bargain for a large plate of full their home. Fries are very good and corn. Beef hash is crazy browned and served up almost sizzling. The only lunch I’ve had was a cheesesteak with tomatoes, lettuce, and onions that was quite good came with pickle and french fries for around 14 bucks and the summer of 2023.
Parking is pretty tight here. There is space alongside the building but not much to the front.
It has this kind of 50s/60s theme about it you’ll see in the video even has an old-fashioned telephone on the wall and likely still works. Nostalgic pieces from the rat pack through the collection of some space shuttle models, and toys on display.
Is divided of into two sections and the weight staff easily makes it around to see if everything is OK and of course to take a dessert order if you’re not full yet.
So I recommend this it’s near the parkway in toms River off of Lakehurst Road onto water Street if you know the area. a bit hectic parking with lots of traffic flow but you’ll be fine.

I absolutely love mom and pop diners. I will ALWAYS support places like this. We are here visiting family and they suggested we go here for breakfast because they are popular. I can see why, the sever was phenomenal and very kind and patient with my kids! The food was damn good. As was the service. I hope the place continues to thrive for years to come. I definitely Recommend this place!

I love it here.
It's like a mini cheers without the drinks.... everyone knows ya name. I like that vibe in today's world.
I like my eggs over medium, dippy persay, with the white part cooked all the way. This is the only place I feel that can do this.
Excellent chicken noodle soup.
Chili is great, and their buffalo wings were doable.

Dont let its exterior deter you! Amazingly friendly service, a true "blast from the past," with decor from the 50s ( from Betty Boop and Popeye to Sinatra and Elvis), Poppy's Place is a great experience. The food is well prepared, and the portions are generous.

The one and only thing I'd changes is the temperature. It's a little hot in there but small price to pay for what u get. Food is phenomenal the waitresses make you feel like family and who in there right mind don't live the oldies bit goodies? Pressly, dean, ect ect. I will be taking mom to eat there every week as she feels the same way I do about the place!

The food was good. Service was good. It was very busy. Seems like a good local hangout. Good for them. These girls work hard. I personally would have liked a little bit more of the home fries. But I was filled when I left so that's good. Prices were comparable to all the other diners.

Very unique breakfast place with old school decor. The servers are kind and laid back. The food was great and reasonably priced. You can't beat the experience and quality of the food at this price point. I will definitely be coming back!
