5 star rating for the chicken, it has excellent taste and crunch! Can't say too much about the sides, they were a bit bland and portion sizes were a bit small. The place it's self is definitely nostalgic but it definitely needs an update. I definitely wish these two siblings the best and hope to see new locations open up in the future. We love driving up to visit this place. Even if it's three hours from our home town. As soon as we get a craving for chicken , we go nowhere else. The food is outstanding. Every bite is nostalgic. Great customer service by the way. Wouldn't change anything about it. Man, this Pioneer did not disappoint!! Lost our local Pioneer years ago, had to see if they still had it. The chicken was hot, crispy and juicy, just like I remembered. The chicken is pretty good and what you expect from a fast food chain. The extra crunchy crust is what makes this chain different from the other is like KFC and Popeyes. They also have a wide variety in their menus like fried fish, gizzard, and really good sides. They don't take credit cards only cash or debt. Walking into the facility is like going back in time and brings back a lot of old memories. Nostalgia is one word to describe the experience. The fried chicken here is good. It reminds me of the original recipe that pioneer had back in the day. The decor is still from the old era and the service is ok. It’s not the best atmosphere but good enough to have good chicken and bring back good old memories.
