The menu selection, taste and service at Freebird are excellent and unmatched in the island. Open Thursday to Sunday by reservation only, the restaurent has an eclectic and varied menu using mostly local foods, fruits and vegetables, and the flavours and blends are unique and fabulous. Service is terrific and the setting and ambiance make every meal special. One is able to have refreshing mixed fruit drinks that are specially made daily and the menu is varied, high quality and unmatched for taste and variety. I highly recommend Freebird for a meal with friends, family or business people you wish to lavish with a local fine dining experience
Visited Freebird Restaurant for the first time tonight with my wife to celebrate my birthday. It's a lovely place away from the ordinary where you get to experience local within nature. All meals are tasty, the presentation is lovely and the customer service is wonderful. Hats off to the chef in addition to Celine, Christian and Keaira. They made our first time experience a wonderful one.
The food was amazing. The most creative and best tasting food from any restaurant in T+T. It actually approaches what can be really considered fine dining. The expertise and passion can be tasted in the food and viewed in the craftsmanship of the presentation and the plating. The only reason I took one star from "Rooms" is because the chairs aren't the best. That's my only nitpick. Other than that, A+.
I heard great reviews about Freebird, tasty food and great presentation as well. I finally went with some friends during ttrestaurant week 2023. The staff were friendly, the food was tasty and the dessert was yummy ! I left Freebird full and I am looking forward to go again :)
Food was well dished out, very Instagram worthy for pictures.
Interesting menu, food was a bit on the sweetside with most dishes or the sauces at least were too sweet for my taste.
Service was initially a bit rocky, improved throughout visit, maybe because it was a bit busy, but still could be a bit more attentive. Some other tables seem to have gotten food prior to us, could be due to dietary restrictions.
Portions were quite filling though,
The plum chow sorbet was really good
Unsure if truly Coeliac friendly, although they did seem to genuinely try to advise on dishes, not sure if cross contamination occurred in back, since had some issues after, still not as bad as other places.
Also, it is a nature based restaurant, but didn't expect a moth to fly out of a water pitcher 😅
Conclusion: Iffy on repeat visit, may deserve another chance though.
A great option for dining out: the setting is picturesque and peaceful; the menu offers a unique take on classic offerings, so generally familiar enough but always with an original (and more often than not, local) twist; the food is carefully curated, presented, served, and most importantly - tasty!
Visited Freebird with a friend on Sunday. This hidden gem should not be kept a secret. The ambiance of a rain forest, flora and fauna in there natural setting. Jaw dropping. The service, unparalled in Trinidad and Tobago. From the carpark attendant to the waiting staff and the manager, excellent. The food was out of this world, we had to order the pumkin bread to take away. The crepe, the pork, the palete cleanser, the desert five star restaurant taste and presentation. A must try for the discerning eater. I will certainly be returning.
The food was excellent! Unique flavor combinations beautifully presented and their drinks are also tasty and refreshing..a true farm to table experience
Food was great. We arrived on time and was seated immediately. Love the atmosphere. Delicious food. It was quite enough for us to have great conversations. I like the options for us to bring our own wine.
The chef's culinary craft is exceptional - food that is exciting to savour.
The attention to detail in terms of presentation and remarkable nuances of flavour made me often close my eyes to enjoy the dance on my palate.
This is the best and most exciting food I have enjoyed to date.
