Seafood chowder, mussels and catch of the day were absolutely delicious. There’s room for improvement for the apple crumble - crumble was not sweet enough and apple not sour enough, it would also be better without the whipped cream.

Catch of the Day
We were only able to get seated on a busy Friday because we were a couple and not a larger party. We split a plate of roast lamb and lamb ribs to allow a splurge on desserts, it was Thanksgiving Day in the US after all! Limited ocean views from both veranda and especially in the main dining room due to breakwater at shoreline.

Serendipitously dropped by here for dinner as the other place we had intended to go was full. The food was good - lamb had no gamey smell, and the meat and seafood platters were plenty for sharing, at a very reasonable price. We definitely expected to pay more because it was a hotel’s restaurant, but ended up paying less than we did in other restaurants during our trip.
The service staff were also very friendly and attentive to our needs. Great experience overall!
Find it hard to believe that some of the bad reviews here are talking about the place we ate at last night. Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. Cheerful efficient service, a great setting and very enjoyable food. Best dining experience of our short West Coast holiday.

You can't beat the view from the patio, and the young waitstaff were lovely. As a vegetarian, I usually have low expectations for regional dining options. I really appreciated the fact that this place had *two* creative vego mains using lots of fresh produce, rather than the same old risotto or gnocchi that every pub offers. A+ for effort, but a C- for execution as neither of our mains nor our side of roasted potatoes had any seasoning. We had to add a conspicuous amount of salt to everything. Perhaps just a mistake by new kitchen staff? The potential for a tasty meal is there, though!

Ordered surf and turf $42 excellent quality. Steak done just as ordered and despite it being busy service was very good. Nice location with good views over the west coast. Highly recommend.

Food was meh. We ordered scallops, surf and turf and salmon for dinner and to be honest, the salmon dish was the only saving grace. Total meal was $114 and it was totally not worth

Absolutely dreadful, i will expand on my trip advisor post later, however in short, the main meals came out before the soup.....twice, the restaurant supervisor told me she would see what's going on and never came back to us . ..the same dish was brought back out before the starters were finished, and when I went to complain about the dreadful service, she "lost it" told me and my friends to leave.
Cmshe has the customer service skills of an absolute amateur, then the hotel manager......who people say is her husband weighed in and told us to go.
Not professional, zero customer service skills, and to be frank a pair of people that should not work in hospitality as they have no customer service skills whatsoever.
From a paying customers perspective, it was the worst dining experience of my life... .my advice to anyone reading this, go somewhere else such as Thatchers & Small , 50 meters down the road. It's awesome.

The staff on the floor were lovely and plenty of them, can’t fault them. The people who waited on our table were bubbly and friendly. The place itself wasn’t that busy, with a few free tables around and others already eating their meals. We ordered some starters and meals, and the meals came out before the starters did and not all at the same time - some of the table actually finished their mains before others were served. They had to eat as we already waited an hour for the food. When asked what was happening the owner said “sorry it’s cos of the school kids that are working we are short staffed” referring to her more than capable lovely staff as school kids and blaming them for the incompetence of running the business - we suggested to her this was not really a great reference and were taken back by her rude defensive attitude towards us when she said “well if your not happy you can leave now”. There was hardly a genuine apology - saying she’ll get our food it’s ready when in reality it was not as it took a further 10 minutes to receive a starter meal.
The advert of menu prices outside the entrance also differed the more expensive ones inside when paying.
Following reading the most recent reviews we wish we didn’t eat here as a larger group. Really disappointed with the over all service and the pork belly was not crispy as advertised it was soggy and half cold x 2.
