Been here a few times. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The food is always tasty no matter what i get. Nice atmosphere. Clean fish tank👍 Didn’t get 5 stars overall because it is a little pricy vs. the amount of food you get, compared to other similar places. With Chinese you always have enough for leftovers, but the portions here are borderline ‘I can probably just eat it all here if i tried’. The fortune in my fortune cookie was a bit ominous, but I don’t hold that against them. See the video for what im talking about…. The food at this establishment is delectable! Amazing! Stupendous! I have been to many such places and this one is bar none number one on my list! If you are in Farmington Hills, it’s worth a visit! Management and staff did well. If you have to wait it’s worth it! We had the beef lo mein and mushroom trio with chicken. They were awesome! I'm guessing he was the owner, but from the moment we walked in until the end, he was incredibly kind. He wrote our name down for a table and remembered it when we were leaving. The food was fantastic as well. The gluten free options were not only plentiful, but they were delicious. I definitely recommend this place. Holy smokes this place is amazing! Beyond exceeded my expectations! You can tell the owner is passionate about his business - I am gluten free and had the empress shrimp - the dish was heavenly. My non gluten free husband had the orange beef which he loved as well! We will be back very soon! By far the best Chinese restaurant we have found in Michigan! Very disappointed! On Christmas Day 2023, I had a 100th birthday party for my mom in the private room. There were 12 of us. Our reservation was from 3:30-5:30. Fifteen minutes after being seated, the waitress came up to us to take our order. I told her that we didn’t get menus yet, which she seemed surprised. At around 5:20, a waiter came up to our table, and said we had to hurry up because another party was coming in at 5:30. He was pretty rude about it. He also said we were supposed to be out by 5:00, which I said we had the table till 5:30. We finally got out at 5:40. I also told him that if we had gotten our menus on time, we would have been out on time. This was the first time I was at this restaurant, and it will be my last. Don't let the outside of this place full you this is the best Chinese restaurant I have found anywhere in this area. We are not from this area and travel all across the country and cry Chinese food places from coast to coast and this is one of the best. The crab rangoon here was the best that I have ever had and all of the dishes are spot-on perfect. To my way of thinking the food here is what all Chinese food places want to be and so rarely are. The ambience is great and the service was impeccable. Don't miss this place give it a try.

We come to this restaurant all the time and have absolutely never had an experience like we did today. The first egg roll was cold and the second that was brought out tasted like it’s been sitting for days. The glass noodles were tasteless, and the meat in one of the other items we ordered was so salty it was hardly edible. The hot tea wasn’t hot, and everyone we spoke to sounded absolutely miserable. First of all, my apologies for the half eaten plate, but there's a purpose. I've eaten a lot of Chinese food, and honestly, sometimes the chicken is a little "suspicious"...not really having the appearance of chicken. That is not the case at New Mandarin Garden. They actually use real, white meat chicken. I believe it was the rib meat from the breast. And it was cooked very well...tender and moist. The breading was done well...not too thick and chewy. My only disappointment was the heat level of the General Tso's. Im used to it being nice and spicy, but this one was rather mild. Very delicious nonetheless. The rice was seasoned and tender as well. I would have only given it 4 stars, but the EGG ROLLS!! WOW!! Big, perfectly fried, and stuffed with well seasoned pork and veggies! These are easily some of the best egg rolls I've had. As you can see in the photo, it's already half eaten 😁

My boyfriend enjoyed the empress chicken, he got it in mild. I found it to taste a little more like barbecue sauce smothered chicken. I ordered the lettuce wraps which were okay, the sauce was like a Concorde jelly? They use items most places usually wouldn’t throw in a lettuce wrap. I will return again and try something different, perhaps a different dish will persuade me to go 5 stars? Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50
