No matter where you stay, it is most definitely literally worth going an extra mile to visit Naibers restaurant when you are on Madeira.
We were driving almost 40 km to check this place after noticing it in google while searching for a good spot to eat.
Saying it was great would be an understatement.
People with true passion and gift are running it, it’s really rare to come across such a positivity and heart warmth.
We were stunned with everything (even the cleanliness of the restroom).
Food, as of course the most important point of visiting the restaurant, was delicious, fresh and truly „homemade”, but at the restaurant level.
The whole place is nice and welcoming. Surrounding and the nature look like taken out from the fantasy book. It’s really a hidden gem of Madeira. :)
We definitely can recommend it to everyone as everyone will find something for themselves and, I bet, would be happy with the experience and food. We would love to come back one day.

This place is absolutely worth a stop. Food is amazing, delicious and fresh. We also drank passion fruit lemonade which is really good as well.
The kind couple that works here gave some extras, got to taste fruit Aracal, bought chestnut. Chef even explained how to prepare it on a fire. The atmosphere is amazing, you feel really welcome here. I would gladly come here again if there will be an opportunity. Also, the views are absolutely stunning.

Hidden a short walk from the other restaurants this was worth the extra 2 minutes of walking. Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful views and delicious food. None of the “ traditional” Madeiran staples here but a great selection of delicious alternatives. The ingredients are locally sourced and beautifully fresh (even displayed on the kitchen counter). I had a salad nicoise with fresh tuna and my husband had a club sandwich. Both were delicious. We were even given extras such as the local chestnuts, an ox heart tomato and the chef even kindly showed me how to prepare a prickly pear. It was really special to find a couple so enthusiastic and passionate about the local produce.

This place is truly a gem. The food was delicious, well seasoned and so much flavour. Views were spectacular and let’s not forget such amazing service. Waitress was super friendly. Best lunch I’ve had on the island. Loved this place so much 🥰

After a 3 km walk down the mountain of Serra de Eira do Serrado, Curral dos Freiras we end up at this lovely bar/restaurant. Very friendly people and the drinks and food are excellent.

What a beautiful and special place. The food is made with love from local products, the best and most fresh lunch I had on Madeira. The chicken is amazing! The owner is very friendly and he let us taste some really good food. Definitely coming back some time!

Lovely couple running the restaurant are super attentive, funny, and engaging. The food is homemade and just what we needed after a hike. THE best experience at a restaurant we have had our whole time on Madeira.

Definitely the best restaurant in town. Stunning and lovely atmosphere. You feel welcome from the first step you take into the place. Food is gorgeous and delicious. Fish Chowder absolutely rocks! But try every single other piece because it is all made with heart and dedication.

Just the kind of place you want to stumble upon on your holiday!
Welcoming and friendly staff, lots of homemade fresh component, fresh local ingredients full of flavor. Just how food should taste. And the view is just out of the world. Dinning in the clouds on a roof top terrace, you can’t ask for more.
