Im from Boston, Massachusetts, USA, where there are actually more Irish than in Ireland, and there are loads of Irish restaurants and pubs---of which my wife and i have to many of them. Sorry, outside of the name and the beer, the atmosphere was not "pub" like. Where is the bar, with bar seating and a bartender? Where was the shepherds pie, guiness lamb stew? Corn beef and cabbage? I ordered the Chilli and Nachos, which consisted of hamburger and dark beans with nachos. The hamburger did not really have a chilli flavor. Rather bland. And I found it expensive for 8.00 euros. Expensive for Portuguese standards. Seeing that it was just a snack. I asked the waitress for some Piri Piri sauce in a tiny tin saucer. Literally about a table spoon's worth. I couldn't believe that I was charged 1.50 euros. It costs more than a beer or a good coffee.

This bar wasn't a typical Irish bar in a tourist spot but the manager was super helpful and friendly offering to order in requested drinks I advance if you have a large party and they do not have the beverage you want. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and their English was also good. They were happy to answer questions and give suggestion for Leiria. Highly recommend.
